Santander Regular E-Saver - rate reduced from 5% to 3%

As previously thought from last week - newly launched Issue 7 has a rate of 3%. Those who opened a regular e-saver before the rate change will still earn 5%.

Another one bites the dust.

    Sad times indeed
  • Dammit. I already have the 3% one as I have the everyday current account rather than one of the 123 current accounts. I guess I won't be able to open another one when mine matures (assuming they don't make any more changes in the interim).

So get any 123 ac., there are several options.

Shame mine runs out in April so will get 5% till then, this year have had the paying for the nationwide one reduced and Ford didn't replace their 5% saver, hoping for more 5% offerings next year.

jeez might aswell put it in the loft now doh!

I try to use these 5% reg savers to spread my risk as i am over invested in p2p but the rates on offer are so poor that i cannot resist the 5-6% and 8-10% on p2p.

just been offered a cashback bonus of £300 for 5k investment plus 9% on the loans.

Where did you get that? Have you had much loss with P2P?

Oh, so that's why they were keen to put up an auto-renewing standing order system in place, so we'd loose out for being loyal.
Will need to assess the situation when mine comes up, rather than let it just carry on.
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

ok, they're reducing the rate, a pity, of course, but why must they add insult to injury with such outrageous comment as:

"We're rewarding our loyal customers with extra value, look out for . . ."

    look out indeed!!
