I am so pleased that you are getting to bed earlier, I am sure you do feel the benefit from this.

You should be so proud of yourself regards the shopping budget. Remember any monies left over can go to your debt.

Hope your son will be pleased with his music results. You and your wife must be so proud of all his achievements.

    Take care

My eight year old has been telling me for at least two years that she is the only person in her whole class without an iPad, and yet she seems to survive. (It's also not true!).

Year One is so young to be sitting exams! I'm sure you'll be proud of him no matter how he does, and with a teacher like you I'm sure he'll do fine.

    June Targets:

    Organise Summer holiday: 1. Trip to R.W. 2. Holiday. 3. Agricultural shows x 3.
Debts: Pay £1,500 from the balance (£6,500 ). Paid.
    Total Grocery Spend: £310 / £400.
11.30pm bedtime: Since I last posted, I've been going to bed very early (10.00pm and reading until 10.30pm). Another early night last night and will be going to bed early tonight.
Meditation: 6/21. Used it to sleep last night rather than getting up.
Spreadsheets / Money tracking: Managing to keep on track with this. Still doing well with this aspect.
    De-clutter and Sell: / 3 items.
Books read for pleasure: 4 / 2, target exceeded.
Learn something new or refine a skill: 1. Continue learning and applying new knowledge to create more sophisticated and streamlined spreadsheets. 2. Learn a new piece of repertoire.

I've not been very well today but hoping tomorrow will be better. I'm very concerned about my father's future and think that is not helping me at the moment. He has been handling things quite strangely, especially when mother hurt herself; not really knowing what to do and getting unduly stressed about the whole situation. Next week I have to take him to a specialist. Father has suffered from potentially life-threatening ill health before but nothing which has the potential to take him before death. Mother's wrist and shoulder are a lot better, still not ready to finish the job :rotfl: but she's not coping with father being referred.
You are doing so well, what a turn around ! ! ! You must be sooooo pleased :T

And your son, hope (I'm sure) he will have done very well in his music exams, you must remember just how young he is, although growing up so fast. Time passes very quickly for us (adults), but as I seem to remember when young - couldn't wait to be all grown up.

Your food budget - I seem to remember you saying something like - you couldn't manage on any less - now just look at it :T

    I'm Still harping on about
    http://www.boots.com/tisserand-sweet-dreams-aromatherapy-roller-ball-10ml-10085639
and there is other similar :D

    10/10 all round :j

    Thanks, AFK. :)

I'll be pleased if my sleeping habits manage to stay this way!

:rotfl: Time does pass quickly for us but summer seems to last forever to my son. He too wants to be "grow up", of course. He should have done well, I was pleased with his performance. :)

Food budget is going well because we are planning and sticking with the plan. I know this was something I didn't think I could do and at times it seems hard to stick to but it is working for us both in terms of time and money.

I am yet to experience my son moving to the next class at school (R, Y1 and Y2 are all in the same class, then Y3-6 are in the same class). I think sometimes the Y3 child(ren) stays in the first class if not ready to move on but my son should be ready at the end of next year. Still, each school year is a milestone for him (and me).

    Thanks, kelpie. :)

I will be putting the extra £90 to the debt if we haven't spent it by the end of tomorrow. ;)

We are both very proud. My wife managed to come to the exam as well, so we had a nice cafe lunch together yesterday which was a treat. Both my wife and I said we enjoy things like that much more now. It means a lot to me that she's getting involved.

He doesn't need an iPad, he has access to mine and that's enough. His intentions were quite sweet really, he wanted one so he could discuss making a dessert with my father and find recipes. :rotfl: My wife quizzed a little more about what else he might like to do on the iPad and he said watch the times table song. He doesn't really know about many games at the moment. ;)

I won't enter him if I'm concerned about the standard he's playing at so he will be fine.

Ooh, I have a theory about that :D

I think time seems to speed up as we get older because of the relative proportion of our life thus far a set period is. If you're 5, a year is 20% of your lifetime, whereas if you're 50 (as Mr Minx is tomorrow), a year is 2% of your lifetime - it's all about perception, which is why the summers always seemed so much longer when we were young :)

I have the same theory, Caz! Great minds ... ;)

Re. Summer: my son made me laugh today when he told me "The weather is being naughty." I asked why and his reply was "It's summer, if it were good it would be sunny". :rotfl:

Off to bed now and hope it is a little brighter tomorrow.

I have heard that theory before as well!

Alex, when did your son start playing - it's the piano, isn't it? My younger daughter is only five at the moment, but I thought about looking into music lessons for next year (I limit them to one extra curricular each and she's chosen hers for this year already) - I assume your son had already started by her age, would I be right?

Also, if I do go with piano lessons, can I get away with just a keyboard for practice at home? My old piano was damaged beyond repair years ago and I no longer play, and I can't really justify buying one just for a child who may get bored of it again in a year.

Thanks for posting that explains those Caz, I tried to explain it to someone recently but didn't put it as well as you.

Lovely to read bright happy posts such as this Alex. Our children are small for such a short time and I love to take note of all the things they come out with. Their world is so literal.

I have every confidence you will keep up with those debt repayments, first chunk gone so onwards and downwards.

I once heard a little one say - after kneeling whilst playing for a long time.

"I've got bees in my knees" :rotfl:

obviously meaning "pins and needles" :)
