:hello: Good morning all
Hope everyone's ok today. Had a visit from Jack Frost during
the night but quite mild compared to yesterday. (Bitterly cold
with a biting wind!) Brrrrrr! Got rid of some 'rubbish' at my
local refuse centre and the guys were all wrapped up like
Michelin men!
Being inquisitive, I've just googled to find more info re the
Michelin Man saying and came across these:
Early Michelin Man .....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelin_Man
Fascinating history. As you can see, I'm easily sidetracked!hiya, just in case anyone else in the inn got the message
for password change I emailed the forum team for
verification of it,
& also spotted MSE Andreas post in Site Feedback
Password update prompt
so it is a genuine message.
Many thanks for the info fire**fly. :A I wondered what that was
all about! Thankfully I decided to save my work before
changing my password. Like everyone else, I've never encountered
that before.
I just can't keep up with all my passwords!
Lol! Neither can I sheils! :rotfl::rotfl:
Well must get on - have a lovely and lucky day all, take
care. xx

Morning peeps. Cold and raining here. Wish I could afford just to leave in the bad weather and come back when it is a bit warmer lol. Can't stand the cold. Was going to head out this morning to look for a Birthday Present for a friend but have decided unless it clears up I am staying where I am. Have another week to get it. Arthritis in left hand and wrist is flaring up so I am sitting typing with fingerless woolen glove on it. (Very becoming lol) Hopefully it wont appear anywhere else. Hope everyone is well and warm.0

Morning,
Been bucketing down again and set to continue. Was a lovely day yesterday though and got all my washing dry. Guess what I will be doing today! The forecast for the week looks pretty bad with rain and snow showing.
Hope the weather won't be too cold for you rose. I know we seldom get the worst of it here. DS2 and DS3 keep moaning about the amount of snow this year and how cold it is. Will be so nice to see spring appear.
Will have a read about the Michelin Man Alfie. Great pics.
Wishing everyone a lovely, lucky weekend.

Morning, we had a hard frost here last night and everything outside is white. Going to take son to work soon so will have the clear the car windows first. I love the post about Michelin men Alfie. I work with a girl who wears a coat that looks like the Michelin men wore it. she says it is warm and makes us laugh everytime she wears it.Some of the young girls at work googled Michelin men as never heard of them, that made a few of us feel old...lol. I have this weekend and next weekend off, going to try and not work weekends now spring is on the way and want to get on and do things in the garden and some DIY round the house.
I hope you all have a good weekend.0 -

evening peeps. hope I find you all well. Nearly got myself in a bit of a tizz this afternoon. Suddenly struck me when I saw the date on my newspaper it would have been my dads birthday today. So rushed of to florist then jumped on a bus to the cemetry. Spent a bit of time there and had a wander to see other relatives (sounds a bit morbid but I don't find it so)came home frozen and a bit wet and phoned my sister in Edinburgh. She had forgotten as well. Upset her a bit. So she has it marked on calendar now so that she will copy over on to next years.0

Popping in just to say the GKs arrived this afternoon. Flights from Glasgow were fine just a bit late but not through weather. Ex DIL said it was most strange as it was sunny as they went to airport.
it was very wet and windy when they arrived here but it was good to see them. DD1 and GS were already here when we arrived home and the GKS went wild running around. GS is coming back tomorrow for sleep over. lo late to sleep for everyone I expect. DKS has brought book back from Scotland I sent him for his birthday for me to read to him.
Indie pleased you have weekend off. Been thinking of you and your family. Its a hard time for your nephew and the boys. All I can say is Big Hugs.
Rose I hope you feel better soon. DH was saying about the Man U Munich disaster last week that it was sixty years and that his father died a couple of days later. DH was the eldest in his family and was just 18 at the time.
Think its Wingos Dads anniversary about this time. Hugs too.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and keeps warm.0 -
:hello: Good morning all
We ended up having atrocious weather yesterday in the end -
wet, windy and miserable!
Today though the sun will be shining (hopefully) for most of
the day which means I can get out in the garden to carry on
with on-going Feb prep stuff!evening peeps. hope I find you all well. Nearly got myself in a bit of a tizz this afternoon. Suddenly struck me when I saw the date on my newspaper it would have been my dads birthday today. So rushed of to florist then jumped on a bus to the cemetry. I don't think it's morbid at all rose - far from it. :A I've always
loved visiting cemeteries from a very young age (not just where
loved ones have been laid to rest but also for the interesting
history).
In fact the older the cemetery the better. Interesting link below
but must admit I've never done 'grave rubbing' - it just doesn't
interest me and somehow seems disrespectful.
May plan a visit to Highgate Cemetery, London though - sounds
a wonderful place and steeped in history. Would love to wander
around there and soak up the atmosphere.

Sorry to hear about your arthritis flare-up too - hope today
sees you feeling a little better. xx
Have a brilliant week with your GKs leanfun - sounds as if
they were all very excited - will be thinking of you tonight re
the sleepover!
I've been thinking of wingo's dad too. ((Hugs)) :A
Enjoy your well deserved weekends off from work indie - lol at
feeling old re youngsters not knowing about the Michelin man - I
know exactly what you mean!
Here's another interesting link:
http://www.localhistories.org/sayings.html
I had no idea that quite a few ancient sayings actually originated
from the Bible!
Well - must get on - got a fairly busy day ahead. Have a lovely
day all and please take care. xx
