Welcome! Sorry to hear about the break-up...

Another single mum here (older child though), this forum has been really helpful.

    Looking at your SOA:
    • are you getting single occupancy discount for council tax?
    • TV quite high
    • water rates seem high
    • are you not getting any child support from the child's father?

    Best of luck!

Are you eligible for child tax credits or do you earn too much?

[*]are you getting single occupancy discount for council tax?
I will be eventually - and thats what I've budgeted for, but I cannot get it yet as he doesn't have a permanent address for me to give to the council people.
    [*]TV quite high
Yup. Some of it is still in contract (the internet and phone line bit) but going to work it out and see what I can do. My only concern is that I won't ever be going out and the TV might be my only form of entertainment, so going to look at cost of things like netflix etc and see what the saving is.
    [*]water rates seem high
Yes - thinking about getting a meter
[*]are you not getting any child support from the child's father?
No - the circumstances are complicated and there will not be any child support.
    [/LIST]

    Thanks for the support x

Going to try to - although it includes high speed internet which I am in contract for and need for working at home on an evening/weekend. I'm out of contract in a couple of weeks time for the other bits so going to ring then and see what they might offer.

Thank you - Im trying really hard, and determined to afford the best I can for her. Its not her fault her world has been turned upside down so trying to make things as normal as possible for her. Today has been hard as she has been really asking for him - its been almost 2 weeks and she has done awesome, but today has been hard. :(
