Hello
Just wondering if anyone could help
I brought an i800 two years ago.
A few months ago when hovering it out i found a hire sheet from Enterprise with all the card details on it.
I was never told at point of sale the people carrier was a ex hire van.
I rang up the finance company asking about this and got this replay
Thank you for the email and attachments. Please be advised the date of sale was 23 November 2016, this date was prior to the recent change in law and therefore there was no obligation at that time to make consumers aware of the vehicles previous use. One of the attachments you supplied shows the previous owner as ERAC UK Ltd, a quick google search shows this is Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Based on the passage of time, this would not be the liability of Black Horse.
Unfortunately I will not be able to uphold your complaint and would recommend you continue with your talks to the supplying dealer. I will send my final response in writing to you over the weekend.
My question is, is there anything i can do? I was never told about it being a a ex hire van.
Any help would be great

Firstly, why are you complaining to the finance company? Surely the issue is with the sale so you should talk to the dealer if you are unhappy?
Did you ask at the time if it was ex-hire?
Did you specifically tell the salesman you did not want an ex-hire?0 -
Why should you have been told?0
-
Brought it where?0
-
Has it caused you emotional distress?0

How often do you hoover it out?
And, was it bought as a personal or business purchase?0 -

That's not what I asked.
Did you go into a van sales room to buy a van and specifically say you did not want an ex-hire van? If not, how would the salesman know what to avoid offering you?
What you are currently describing is like me asking the greengrocer for a bag of apples then complaining to the credit card company that I wanted Granny Smiths and he gave me Pink Lady after I got home and ate the apples then read the sticker.
So to ask again:
Why did you complain to the finance company, not the dealership?
Did you specify to the dealer that you did not want an ex-hire?0 -
Peraonal
Just do a normal clean out but found the slip when i took the back carpets outYou be lucky:T0 -
Where do people think these rows and rows of 6month to 1 year old cars come from on dealers forecourts??
Also whats the issue with an ex hire and whats the material loss you're complaining about here?
Whos to say an independently owned van would have been treated any better? A lot arent owner driven anyway but driven by an employee who doesnt give a rats !!! about it.0 -
