I used to have a Samsung Tab 3 and over the years, numerous android phones. I moved on the 10" ipad but feel I want to return to Samsung.
Equally, I invested in an iphone but after a year, returned to Samsung A5 which I am more than satisfied with.
Given that I now aim to buy a Samsung Tab, I note that a model A, 10.1 and with 32GB, wifi only is £229 at Currys looks good. I see it runs Android 7, Nougat and has 2GB. This would fulfil my requirements. Does anyone feel they can contribute to me either confirming my understanding of this model or have you something that might interest me elsewhere, price or model.
I have a HP laptop, so it's really an extra.

I have the Tab A 10" and it works nice and smoothly. As you say, running Android 7.0, 2Gb memory and 16Gb Storage, which I find more than adequate.
Like you, it's just an extra we keep on the coffee table, but, find we use it quite a bit as it saves firing up the PC or Laptop.
I also went from Apple to Android and haven't ever had cause to regret it. Not necessarily because it's better, but, because it fits in with everything else I have.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

i also switched 2 years ago from an ageing ipad to the samsung tab A 10.1" and would never go back to an ipad. the widescreen format suits me perfectly for reading in portrait mode or watching a film / tv in landscape. screen is excellent quality. i do think the apple iOS is smoother in running but not enough so to put me off of android.
oh, and the added bonus is i can add music and photos easily to the samsung - i hated iTunes.0 -
RumRat/Tonygold, I agree with everything you both say. As with most things, it isn't so much a case of which is best, more what you prefer.
So now it is a case of, searching to find if anyone can point me in the direction of a cheaper purchase. I'm not a lover of Curry's/PC World but when the alternative is only Argos where I can pick up an item, its take it or leave it.0 -

just been reading reviews. Have to say, I once bought a secondhand lenovo phone and it seemed riddled with chinese pop-ups, so it's now in a draw. So tend to pas over this make, but am prepared to consider it. It would make a £40 saving from my intended purchase, but have to weigh up, do I need the extra ram etc.0 -
I need the extra memory for BBC Iplayer downloads
16 GB soon fill up, SD card is not an option for BBC iplayer0 -
Let us assume I do buy this model. I will want to clear everything off my ipad before I sell it on. Can't remember exactly how I did it last time to ensure whoever uses it next, wont be able to access my links, ie if I simply delete the MSE icon, and the next person chooses to use MSE, won't it go straight to my details?, or do I have to log out and log in again on new device?. But surely, once I've logged in again, won't it show up here as "in"?. Same with FB/ Messenger/google photo's?0
