    Keep your name out of it unless you absolutely have to, it is one less big business that will be able to sell off your personal details to the highest bidder without your knowing.
    (Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

    and this is why the EU brought in the General Data Protection Regulations. Has to be clearly set out what they need the information for and have a clear opt-in for marketing and sharing of information.
    Unless you have evidence of data being sold on?

    Yup; but what about information that is 'hacked', 'stolen' or '...left on a bus...'?
