Hi All,

Me and my boyfriend have recently moved into a flat using Economy 7. Our hot water is heated using the Hortsmann Maxistore, and does seem to be working accurately, it is set to come on between around 3am-7am and does do this however the timer seems to be running slow.

If we manually turn the dial of an evening to set the correct time, when we wake up in the morning, it has run around 2 hours behind meaning our water is still being heated up past 7am, therefore in our peak hours.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

Check the controller is wired to the 24-hour supply from the daytime consumer unit (not the off-peak only storage heater supply).

If it's wired to the off-peak supply, then the internal rechargeable battery has failed and the unit is failing to keep time.

If it's not possible to replace the battery, get an electrician to move the controller to the 24-hour supply, and/or replace the controller.

is the newer electronic version, should fit on the old backplate.
