Awwwwwwwwwww twin panda boys born in Atlanta Zoo six days ago....Congratulations to Lu Lu

Just an update on the Atlanta panda twins....

This thread was started jut over two years ago when the twin pandas Mei Lun and Mei Huan were born in Atlanta Zoo. They are the only surviving twin pandas still surviving born in a US Zoo. Well they celebrated their 2nd birthday back in July and they are still together in the same enclosure and will be until they reach sexual maturity at about age 4.

    Hello from San Diego!
Went to the zoo a couple of days ago - it felt surreal tosee the pandas in real life after spending so long watching them on the cam. Baby panda almost gave us a heart attack when it fell about 20 feet out of a tree - was perfectly fine though.
Off out for breakfast and a wander round La Jolla now - weather fab (again!).
    Laters!

Envious of you while it is cold and pouring of rain here in the UK. I presume you saw the 4 year old Yun Zi as well? I think the father panda Gao Gao is off display at the moment.

Only a couple of days left now before we fly home - I suspect we're in for a shock with the weather It wasn't too bad before we left.

Back home from San Diego, by the way - had a wonderful time there and I'm not too impressed with the weather here, or the jetlag and horrible cold I've developed.........

Ive really enjoyed watching these pandas grow day by day. I did vote to name them too although my choice wasn't selected.

    They really are beautiful creatures.

In other panda news a 2 year old Zhang Xiang has been released back into the wild. Don't think she looks two chuffed about it in the video!

I watch the Atlanta twins on a daily basis. I believe they are 10 and 11lb cubs now.

I'm looking forward to seeing them put together with their Mum. I wonder if she realizes she has 2 babies and not 1.
