Roughly how much to install sliding mirrored wardrobe doors?

Hi all


Looking to install sliding mirrored doors in place of current "normal" doors.


Wardrobe is one large space without any dividers with 2 doors opening into the wardrobe.


Its a stud wall.


Looking at 3 x 762mm doors in a space approx 2280mm wide.

How much is this likely to cost (excluding the price of the doors).

    I've done a few of these. You will need wider doors than 762. they aren't designed to fit exactly and should overlap each other.


    Probably days work for 2 guys, so allow £500 plus vat, plus any trim, timber etc.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    Sorry - I wasn't clear in my post.


    The 2280mm I mentioned is the total space between the radiator TRV on the left of the photo and the corner of the wall on the right so the actual opening will be smaller to allow the overlap (should mean the required opening space is around 2230mm ish).

    very easy to fit yourself. look on youtube for videos and try wickes or b&q for the parts.
    I fitted one a couple of years ago and it was very straightforward.
    Attach bottom track to floor, fit top track the doors just drop onto the track.

    If it was just fitting new track & doors I'd be happy to do that but if you look at the linked photo there is a wall to be opened up.

    Better than whats there just now.

    What would you recommend doing to improve access to the storage?

    I'd agree on removing the piece of wall in between, but have to concur that mirrored doors are old-fashioned. Go into a door showroom and see some of the examples, that will give you a better feel for what is in fashion. You might not care about fashion but the next owner of your home will judge the home's value based on the perceived "era" of such things as doors, bathroom colours, kitchen finishes etc.

    The cheaper option is simply to fit some modern doors.
