  • I think the interest free credit card option sounds great providing you know you can pay it off eventually as you wont be paying any interest. :money:

Glad weather was good. I want to wash all my laundry tomorrow if it lasts. So glad it is the weekend. :j

  • Plans for today
    1. wash spare bedding from when DS's friend stayed over last week
    2. take shoes back for refund on credit card to reduce balance before transferring to new 0% card done
    3. drop birthday card at a friends house done
    4. collect free tv stand from another friends house - we will need this once we have a new tv as our old silver beast is built-in to the current tv stand done
    5. clear some more stones from the alleyway done - another 2 bucket loads removed

I managed to do most of the things I had planned and DS did his washing. It was a lovely warm day and the same is forecast for tomorrow so I will get the rest of the washing done then.

The GP surgery phoned me today to confirm my chest xray was clear, so that was a relief. When they start asking if you were a smoker and send you for an xray saying that they want to check your lungs its always going to be a worry but thankfully all clear ! Occ health also phoned me at ten to 5 on a Friday on my day off ... blooming cheek ! They have scheduled an appointment for Tuesday but I told them due to the short notice it may have to be changed if my union rep cannot attend and they said that was ok.

  • A dull grey morning here but it has brightened up now :)

Had a trip to the vets this morning as puppy had a small problem that the vet sorted thankfully, so she is much happier now. Shes snoozing on the armchair and DS is in bed from night shift.

I've got some washing on as it looks like its gonna be a lovely day. For once my neighbour 2 doors down is not burning some smelly old rubbish in his garden (which he has been doing a lot lately  ) so I should be able to get lots of washing done. I'm having fish and chips for lunch, battered cod from freezer to oven and some oven chips.

Its been a dry sunny day until about 3pm so I got puppy bedding washed and dried and throws & cushions from puppy chairs. I do hope that the house does not end up smelling of wet dog :o I need to get some more baking soda to sprinkle on the carpets as it deodorises them and I can get a 500g tub from the range for £1. I don't know if its cheaper anywhere else I will have to check out £1 land next time I go.

    Back to work tomorrow :(

Don't worry about parents SW I am sure they are pleased to be able to help you in any way they can. Its raining here now too

  • That price is great for baking soda, I hope it helps. I don't think the house will smell as she is a puppy.

I had my occ health referral today and they have agreed the reasonable adjustments suggested by my union rep for the foreseeable future. That should get managers off my back for now and I can get on and do some other work. My throat was on fire after and I lost my voice again despite taking pain killers before and after the phone call :(

I scrubbed the patio down this afternoon to get rid of nasty doggy niffs and took the puppy for a walk.

I have decided to pay this months credit card bill (last months spending) in full from savings to avoid any interest charges and transfer the balance (this months spending) to the 0% credit card. I can then concentrate on building up my savings again. My car insurance is due in December and I need to get a new TV as mine is now like watching in black and white where the colour has gone :rotfl: I am starting to look at deals which should come up around now / xmas time.

  • So sorry that your throat hurts. Well done in dealing with occupational health - it sounds so stressful.

Well done on cleaning after puppy and sorting out bill. I hope you can find a nice tv.

  • I came home early from work today feeling unwell, took some painkillers and went to bed and slept for 2 hours solid !

This afternoon I have made stew enough for 4 meals and took puppy for a walk to get some fresh air.

Its getting dark early now and cooler at night so I've started shutting the curtains. The sun never really came out today its been a gloomy old day.

I bought puppy new toys yesterday from B&M. She has destroyed one in just a few hours and the other in less than 20 minutes and they are labelled as "chew" toys and one is designed to withstand chewing :rotfl: I webchatted with them this afternoon and they are passing on my comments and I can return them to store for a refund or exchange for something more resilient !

New credit card pin arrived today yay! Just waiting for the card now.

Poor you, I hope you feel better pronto! You've got your head screwed on with the savings transfer. I've had to do the same to my current account as I think a recent Amazon order might tip me into overdraft territory, a no-no for the possible mortgage application when the next place comes up.

Sounds like puppy is a real livewire :)
