Christmas 40th birthday

:rudolf: My husband will be 40 on 23rd Dec and although I'm thinking of either a meal or get together with rellies,I would appreciate any ideas:beer:
So close to Christmas, it's not easy to get a booking most places cos of parties unless booked yesterday!
Usually we have about 10 friends join us for dinner as it's a catch up before we settle into the family way during the Christmas period, however a few of these friends are away this year.
He brought me to NYC for my 30th a few years ago, sadly we're not in that league anymore but he would appreciate anything I arrange!

How about an indoor picnic? All the kinds of nice foods & drink you'd have on an outdoor one but hold it in the warmth of your front room instead!
