  • Hi guys,

First post on here so not sure if this is the correct way to do things :/

We've just recently reserved a plot with TW and gone onto the easymover scheme, don't want to get our hopes up as 6 weeks is a small window to sell...

Just wondered if anyone has had good/bad experiences with these easy move schemes ?

Hi Sherlocknewbuildhomes, we used barratts easy mover scheme but pulled out just as we got a buyer. It was quite quick and easy, we had a buyer 3 weeks and 2 days after signing up. The only thing I found was that they weren't able to give any discounts or incentives because they knew they had you on the hook, other than that it was fine until we pulled out.

We actually kept the buyer, paid the estate agent ourselves and went to a different builder on the same site who offered lots of incentives because we were ok to proceed.

All the best with your sale :)

  • Hi Kirtsypoos

Thank you for your reply, we have only just signed up so hopefully things will click soon for us.. TW have already offered us some very good incentives so can't complain !

How can they be so confident to find a buyer in the 6 weeks ? It's such a small window to sell, even at a reduced cost..

Have you completed and moved in on yours ?

    :)

We refused to accept it being marketed at a reduced price and we got our buyer just before the price was dropped, for more than the price would have been dropped to so I was happy.

I was told by the site office that they don't stringently stick to the 6 weeks as long as there is interest in the property so try not to worry too much :)

We are due to complete on 16th Dec so fingers crossed :)

  • Good on you, your plan worked lol !

Hopefully ours will sell quickly, I'm sure they have some trade tricks to help it along its way..

Reservation fee is down, they've had the solicitors get in touch already and asked us to choose extras etc.

16th not far away, hope all goes well for you
    Nice Christmas present :)

Will keep everything crossed for you to get SSTC soon. What is the build completion date for you at the moment?

Looks like our sale has dropped through. She had an appointment with mortgage advisor and haven't heard anything since, so not good

Aw RavenQueen, what a shame. Hope it's just a blip and she does get sorted out. Maybe chase the estate agent for news?

Have things slowed down for everyone as it's getting closer to Christmas? Hope viewings are still occurring for all of you!

Ours has been temporarily removed from the market for a few weeks and re-launching on 21 Dec for viewings (hopefully) in the new year. Photos have already been taken by new agent so we can enjoy Christmas in peace.
  • Also off the market for a relaunch on boxing day.
