CCJ on credit file how do I find out about it?

Checked credit score to find a CCJ on my file activated this march but has my old address down. I moved house 18months ago. I have a reference and have done a search but it does not give much information as to what it pertains too.

I've never had a parking ticket, missed payments or anything like that. Is it worth contacting the county courts?

So confused....
Any info would be greatly appreciated

  • You can contact the courts or look at Trust Online to see more info - it will cost around £10

To search the register at trust online when you know the address the ccj was registered at costs £6.

Yes, ask the court that issued it for the particulars of claim. You can email if they don't answer the phone.

    Thanks all,

After much digging yesterday, it is the result of overstaying in a free car park by 12 mins a year ago.

Maidstone leisure centre, visited for kids party. Not aware of the rules about informing the centre of my car details. They issued the fine but as I'd moved months before and not updated the dvla, I did not become aware until it appeared on my credit file. Not sure if I can appeal. Anyone have any advice.

The charge now stands at £351 with the CEL.
  • OK so a big issue there is that you moved and didn't update the DVLA - which can also lead to fines.

I'm not sure you'll be able to appeal based on this

Ok, sorry to post on here again, I've requested a n244 claim form from CCBC which has been emailed to me. There has been no correspondence as it's been sent to a different address, do I request a letter from the CCBC to help clarify the details. I know the claim number, who the claimant is and where the fine was given.

The form is confusing, yes I have gone through the newbies thread and I keep coming across letters people have written. Is this attached to the n244 or added in the separate sheet section. Witness statement I have is myself but also an email from the mother of the kids party which shows the timings of the party. Yes I have gone through the newbies, there is so much I for to take in. Struggling.

is being answered by coupon mad and johnersh - both experts in this.

You are not likely to get specialist help on the credit file board - most of us would struggle with some aspects of this but ther's loads of help over there
