Recommendations for hand luggage (Ryanair etc)

So I'm looking to invest in a good quality bag that I can take on as hand luggage for budget flights.
I figure if I pay for one that lasts, I'll probably be breaking even after 1-2 flights just from the savings of not checking in luggage :money:
Any recommendations out there? Brands etc?
Thanks!

Samsonite 4 wheel hard sided are good. If you get the 20cm one it also looks small. They are often on sale so have a good search.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thanks Richard! Is this the one you mean? https://www.casepoint.co.uk/luggage-suitcases/samsonite-flux-55cm-cabin-spinner-black-detail0 -
The Samsonite looks robust, but it's pricey; we have used a pair of the smallest, cabin-sized "sub zero G" or "sub-0-G" (google "world's lightest luggage") for over 25 years, and the wheel has only just fallen off one of them.
Only £20-£30 at places like Argos or Matalan and they have proven very robust despite looking flimsy (but then, you probably won't get people chucking your cabin bag around the carousel?)
But their big plus, in the days when Ryanair had (and sometimes enforced) a 10 kilo limit was that they really were light, half the 3-kilo weight of some rigid cases, so we could go away for a couple of weeks even in winter with carry-on only!0 -
Just buy a small cheap as chips rucksack type bag.
I think I paid around £6 for mine.0 -
I bought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B2UY7TQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and have taken on board as hand luggage for weekends away though I don't know if it meets with Ryan Air's limits
Hubby bought an Osprey rucksack to use as hand luggage.0 -
It is only 35cm wide, you are allowed 40cm.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
