Amazon Marketplace customer rights

Can I ask if it’s legal for amazon to sell merchandise on their marketplace for another supplier. Take their cut and then absolve responsibility and legal redress you may have if the product goes wrong. They then state that you have directly bought from the supplier who more than likely is in China. Surly there should be a warning and a further button to press to state that you are happy to forgo your legal rights.
It strikes me that this should be open to legal challenge?

Yes it's legal, you are not buying from Amazon, they are merely providing a selling platform much like eBay or gumtree also do.0

You are warned before you buy. It clearly states who you are buying from.0

As above there is a warning and no it's not buried in the small print.0

There are plenty of Amazon Marketplace sellers who are very firmly from the UK and also honest and reliable.
It's also as clear as day exactly who you are purchasing from.
If you have doubts, I recommend purchase only from Amazon or don't use the Amazon website at all.
Any "legal challenge" would be total folly.0
