Morning. Can you believe it receptionist at chiropractor phoned at eight yesterday morning to say the Doctor there was unusually ill. Fortunately DH was still getting ready to go there for nine. Anyway DH has come down with the infection later yesterday. When he sneezes the whole house nearly shakes and it’s bad for his chest. DS actually dressed yesterday so is slightly better.
DH did have hearing aids in some of yesterday. He made me laugh last night when he said he could hear his own voice. I said well don’t you normally or you wouldn’t know what you are saying.
Sheils it’s strange how when one thing goes wrong so many others follow. Have to say after years and reading on here last year DH changed our suppliers with no hiccups at all. When we had changed years before no end of problems.
Do hope a win comes along for you and Alfie soon.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. It’s great to have the milder weather.0 -

Another article from our archives...Harris's List. A look into the
seedier side of Georgian London...
Harris’s List
by Ben Johnson
Bawdy books and pamphlets had been around since the
Restoration. Five issues of the ‘Wandering W h o r e’ had been
published between 1660 and 1661, and ‘A Catalogue of Jilts,
Cracks & Prostitutes, Nightwalkers, W h o r e s, She-Friends, Kind
Women and Other of the Linnen-Lifting Tribe’ was published in
1691.
However ‘Harris’s List of Covent Garden Ladies’, an annual
directory of prostitutes working in London published from 1757 to
1795, was a Georgian bestseller. A small guide book, it was printed
and published each year at Christmas and sold for two shillings
and sixpence. Incredibly, a report from 1791 estimates that
Harris’s List sold at least 8,000 copies a year! It would appear that
this little book was essential reading for gentlemen visiting London
for pleasure.
London at this time was a city rife with prostitution, and Covent
Garden was one of the most affected areas. More than two thirds
of London’s “disorderly houses” or ‘houses of ill repute’ (brothels)
were to be found around Covent Garden and the Strand.
This was a crowded, vibrant and lively part of London ... [Cont'd] >>>

For 10 years, a rogue fishing vessel and its crew plundered the
world’s oceans, escaping repeated attempts of capture. Then a
dramatic pursuit across the high seas finally netted the one that
got away.
In the haze of an overcast April afternoon, the rust-stained hull of
the Andrey Dolgov slapped its way through the ocean swell, oily
water gushing from the ship’s waterlogged bilge as it made a
desperate attempt to flee.
Pursued by a sleek, heavily armed naval patrol boat, the ungainly
fishing vessel had little hope of escape. A drone and surveillance
aircraft circled overhead while the Indonesian navy ship bore
quickly down, closing a trap that had been months in the making.
The crew of the Andrey Dolgov surrendered.
It seems hard to believe that this creaking, corroded vessel was
one of the most wanted on the high seas. Yet it slipped through
the authorities’ fingers on several occasions and managed to elude
ships sent to chase it across the ocean.
The Andrey Dolgov, or STS-50 or Sea Breez 1 as it also sometimes
called itself, had been plundering the oceans of their most valuable
living resource – fish. It was part of an international organised
criminal network that thrives between the blurred lines of maritime
law and on the corruption of officials.... [Cont'd] >>>

Morning, beautiful morning here already have 1 lot of washing out and another in machine. I have been working the last 2 days so washing has mounted up again.Should get it all dried as they forecast 17 degrees today loving this weather when you can get washing dry but like you Alfie it shows up all the dusty bits indoors. There is always tomorrow to dust, that won't go away unlike our nice weather. That's my excuse anyway, lol. Hope you all have a good weekend.0

Lovely sunny day here too. Dh cut the front grass yesterday and I did some well needed weeding so we are meaning to do some more gardening today. We never do much at a time as we are both prone to sore backs (infact DH makes sure it is me who does most of the bending!)
Think I have got everything sorted out now but time will tell.
It turns out the hotel messing things up has given us a large points bonus as it was counted as a points and cash stay which was on our list of things to achieve to get bonuses! Don't expect they will notice the money was returned. Never had a problem changing gas and electricity providers before so fingers crossed this won't be the next thing to go wrong as I give my reading tomorrow.
Hope you and your family are feeling ok today leanfun.
Well done on the dogs leads FF.
Bet you will be in the garden today Alfie.
Just about to hang our washing out too indie. Don't have much but when the sun is shining....
Have a lovely day all.

Morning sunny here too.
Love the free weeds Alfie. Don’t know why but reminded me of garden centre near DSs says Rabbits Keep Out.
Thanks all. Sheils much the same here cough, cough and it hurts.
Don’t know if I said DHs chiropractor appointment was cancelled as Doctor was I’ll. DH came down with infection in afternoon so could have passed this on.
I’ve been doing comps mindlessly until I discover they were for 2018 ho ho.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.0 -
Afternoon folks hope you are all well. Had a rather busy but unfortunate week. Nieces daughter was knocked down and killed. Funeral was yesterday morning. She was only twelve. It has knocked family sideways. She went all through primary and started high school this year with grandson so it has hit him really bad. Her mum and dad and sister are distraught. So family not great at the moment. A petition has been started to try and get them to put some safety procedures in place on that particular road as there a re many accidents and kids being knocked own on it. It is very busy and fast and only yards from the high school.0
