Brussels Sprouts @ Asda - FREE!

Went to my local Asda store today, and they had trolley loads of fresh Brussels Sprouts (500g bags)

They were marked as FREE. You were being invited to help yourself.
Something about them not liking seeing good food to go to waste.
Quite a long shelf date. Good until the New Year.

Not sure if this is store specific, so worth a look in your local store.

    They did this last year too, were handing them out to customers as they left the store; a nice touch.

    I'm guessing they are at their 'Best Before' and they wouldn't shift them even if yellow-stickered. Personally I wouldn't buy anything on its BB date from our Asda as I've seen the state of their stock - even three days before the BB date, the brussels were turning yellow.
