Milk Prices: have I missed something?
Options
When I went to buy my usual milk this week (Arla BOB) it had gone up from £1.20 a carton to £1.60. That's a 33.3% increase!
I checked on mysupermarket and the price for the BOB milk seems much the same everywhere, not counting offers.
Is this a case of a price rise just 'because they can' or has something happened to push up the price of milk?

They may be doing it for moral reasons, paying farmers a fair price for their milk.0

Most of the recent news would appear to be suppliers reducing prices
https://milkprices.com/membersnews.asp
and Arla have been keeping their prices steady

so any increase would seem to be down to the retailers rather than the suppliers0 -
Bought milk this morning and the Arla BOB in the Co-op has now gone up to £1.80. That's a 50% rise from what I was paying in September.
I know I can vote with my feet and go elsewhere and buy semi-skimmed more cheaply but that doesn't make it right.
It is on offer at various places at the moment but £1.80 seems to be the new regular price.
Is other milk escalating in price like this?0
