    O2 Travel Update

    O2 Travel changes

    30 new destinations

From 14 July, we're extending our O2 Travel service to cover 30 new destinations outside of Europe.

As you're already on O2 Travel, you'll get data, minutes and texts in 30 new destinations outside of Europe and in the existing European O2 Travel destinations.

    What is O2 Travel?

O2 Travel is our roaming service for Pay Monthly customers travelling abroad. It lets you use the internet, talk and send texts while you're away without worrying about overspending.

    How much does it cost?

For £3.99 a day in Turkey and £4.99 a day in selected countries outside of Europe you'll get all the data you need, 120 minutes to make and receive calls and 120 texts to use each day within your travel destination and back to the UK.

In Europe, O2 Travel will continue to work as normal. For £1.99 a day you'll get all the data you need, 120 minutes to make and receive calls and 120 texts to use each day within European O2 Travel destination and back to the UK.

    What's included?

Every day you'll get all the data you need, 120 minutes to make and receive calls, and 120 texts.

You'll only be charged on the days you use O2 Travel. The daily charge applies from midnight to midnight UK time. The daily charge won't be triggered by receiving calls or texts. Any calls you do receive during the day will be automatically included in your 120 minutes daily allowance. You'll only be charged if you exceed this limit within the same day period. Any calls after you exceed the 120 minutes daily allowance will be charged at the standard roaming rates for your selected destination.

O2 Travel gives you a separate allowance of data, minutes and texts while you're away, and won't affect your standard UK tariff allowances. Voicemail (901) is included in the cost.

    What's not included?

Any unused data, calls and texts won't be carried over to the following day.

If you go over the daily 120 minutes and 120 texts allowance, you'll be charged the standard roaming rates. Premium rate numbers, MMS (picture messages) and other non-standard texts are also not included and will be charged at standard domestic rates.

Countries covered by O2 Travel from 14 July

If you opt out, you'll be charged for any data, minutes and texts usage at the standard roaming rates. Data outside of Europe is charged at £6/MB.

Your data usage is capped at £43 (inc. VAT) in Europe, which gets you 935MB of data. It's capped at £40 (excl. VAT) outside of Europe, which gets you 50MB of data. Contact us to raise this cap to £120, to use 2.6GB of data in Europe, 200MB of data outside of Europe or to remove the cap completely. If you choose to remove the £120 cap, you'll be charged the per-megabyte rate for the country you're travelling in. When you're back in the UK, you can contact us to reapply the cap.
