Sorry, but £191 for a bed and some breakfast that probably costs approx. £10 per guest is still a rip-off!!

You do get that there are huge running costs with running a complex that size and to that standard? Quality of that level costs. And costs big. If you want a cheap b&b instead there are plenty around.

Its not a rip off in so much as
    • Nobody is forcing you to pay it
    • Its pricing is in line with other hotels of that calibre

Highly ironic that it is located on the outskirts of Ballymena with Ballymena folk renowned for their frugalness.

I have only heard good things about Clanree, although I have never been there.

The Clanree is good and you can get some cheap deals by booking online

Yes, they were a fair bit cheaper than anywhere else for us. Heading there for a couple of nights in August.

Really looking forward to it.

    Will report back on findings!

Clanree is lovely - and very good value most of the time.

The Farnham estate is on groupon sometimes - my parents got 2 nights B&B for about £130 and that included credits for use in restaurant and spa

Galgorm is grand. What it does it does well. 4 star hotel with a 5 star spa and 4 star rooms. I think it's expensive for a 4 star and about right for a 5 star. Not good value but not horrific.
