2000 ltr LPG cylinder at new house!!!

Options
Hi,

We are about to move house, and I am totally clueless about gas of all types! I have never even had mains gas, let alone LPG! It is a BP LPG (Macgas in Scotland) cylinder, 2000 litres.

I called their customer services and was told:

Minimum delivery 500 litres
Standard domestic rate: 32.95p per litre
Intro offer for new customers paying by DD: 21.95p per litre for year 1
Intro offer for new customers paying by DD: 23.95p per litre for year 2

Price she then quoted was £120.49 for a minimum delivery (doesn't add up, but there you go! must be the odd fuel VAT rate - what is the rate?)
I calculate around £470 for a full tank (after VAT which I calced at 7.5% as a guess.) at the yr 1 intro rate, or £708! at the standard rate.

3 year contract with 3 months written notice required.

How does that sound to you guys? Anyone an LPG tank user out there??

Thanks in advance!

hi. i have lpg with listers. the tank is hired for about £40 a year. therefore we have to have it filled by listers. you can buy your own tank for about £500 but i dont think its worth while but you can then have it filled by anyone. we pay 25p per litre no matter how much or little we have. our tank is 1500 litre but you can only ever have it 75% full for safety reasons ie 1250 litre. we tend to have it filled when almost empty and ring them for a filling. next door are on automatic top. so when ever the tanker is passing they will top it up. one thing to look out for,if after your contract is up the gas starts going up, shop round for prices from other companies and if its cheaper tell your present supplier! i did and they matched it!
