Yep, its always better to save a tooth if the dentist thinks its on.

And oh my word, you've got a lot on your plate in the runup to Christmas!

Thanks, both of you, yes, at least the tooth does not have to come out!

In other news, that trade with my neighbour was two huge legs of venison (a meat I have cooked precisely twice before - both as treats). I managed to press some home grown veg as well as the frozen fruit on to her in return and I think we both felt we had got the better end of the deal, so that is the best sort of trade. I could only get one in the freezer so defrosted the second one. Then we boned it and cooked a BBC Venison casserole recipe that was delicious. There is masses left over and I will need to make pies and freeze some. I am going to try and fit that in later today while I work from home.

My car is £540+VAT. That is £648 - just because some B'tard moved the plastic railings so I could not fit. My own fault, I know but I drove in through the space, why would it occur to me that I could not fit through the same space to get out?!

B****ggr! Agreed, logical to assume you could drive through the same space again!

I hate this plodding-point in the month. No money saving or debt-busting things to say because all but one expected payment has gone from both accounts, so it is just hanging on in there until pay-day now on the running costs account, and waiting for electricity DD to go this week on the bills account.

So, my dilemma is - do I pay down the mortgage or build up the savings with the extra bits and pieces now the emergency fund is limping past £10k?

Less than five years to when the mortgage will end, less than two years until DH and I want to stop paid work

Trying to avoid all Black Friday stuff. I need to eke out the money again by being sensible. I am just going to research turkeys and wine and then I plan to make cake and make up my recipe jars for next week's Craft Fair.

Very slow progress at the moment. Now the boiler pump has gone wrong so no heating. The indication that they would fit the replacement (involving draining down the system and taking 4 hours) is not happening today and the next day I can take at home is around 14th! I let DH take the time out to sort this but we are now in limbo. Am I alone thinking !!!!!! - doesn't this count as urgent with 24 hour delivery for the parts in these circumstances ?i.e. snowing and NO HEATING FOR A WEEK
