Judging by some of the OP's other posts he has nothing better to do than make frivilous complaints.

Seriously, get a life and you wont worry about such trivial matters.

OP you need to look at yourself in the mirror and rethink your priorities - complete time waster.
  • I feel sorry for the Santander Complaints Handler.

When I used to work for a Financial Services Organization, we would sometimes refer these complaints to a specialist department, who would review the case - and then write to the customer advising that we're sorry we don't seem to be meeting their needs, and giving them 60 days to take their business elsewhere before closing the account.

Appreciate everyone is entitled to providing feedback on the service rendered - but not to this extreme. What does the OP want to achieve other than costing Santander FOS case-handling fees?
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!

Santander have a system glitch on their 123 accounts re direct debits which they still have not addressed and could affect interest payments, this has been ongoing for over 4 years and hasn't been addressed and probaby affected mse users.
To pester people with text messages for their own benefit when there is a simpler solution gives me the impression it shows lack of customer care.
I am simply following a system that they have signed up to and working within their own procedures.

What I don't want to do is to make an MGM production out of something that the bank has actually sent in the first place!

What is an MGM production please?

I have another bank which state in their emails that I'm responsible to check the authenticity of the emails that they send me

This is a gross overreaction to nothing. Consulting the Citizens Advice Bureau and the FOS because you received a text from your bank asking if you wanted to continue to receive paper statements. Furthermore, you were asked only to reply with a figure 1 not give out personal details that would be of use to a fraudster.
Stop complaining about nothing and wasting everybody's time including your own. Forget it and get on with your life.

If I were them I'd be closing your account...customers like you are not worth the hassle.

    Hi,

OP you have the option of closing your account and going somewhere else, though it sounds like you will stick this out until you get some financial compensation.
