    Hi all, thanks for the messages I am going to contact the Landowner. I hadn't seen any of the paperwork or emails up until yesterday and my wife gets very nervous with these sort of things and unfortunately paid it because of how it made her felt even though she has done absolutely nothing wrong! Thanks for your help, I'll post a message once I've been in touch with the landowner and see what they say.

    On a side note I can't help but think that private firms such as ParkingEye issue parking fines knowing people like my wife will pay them for the peace of mind regardless of whether she's in the wrong.

    Seems like the Car Reg No. wasn't entered into any of the terminals which would have entitled the driver to 4 hours free parking.

    Hi All,


    Just a thought. If the OP has paid the "discounted price" and the POPLA code is still valid/in time. Can the OP do a POPLA appeal, and win it? Then Parking EYE will be bound by the ruling and have to refund the payment.

    The only risk is losing, then PE will demand the higher amount, but the OP could go to court and win.

    If you don't want to pay £100 parking fine DO NOT VISIT Lee Valley Parks. Even if you pay the parking fee in accordance with the parking Tariff they will still give you £100 Parking FINE (PCN).

    I have received a PCN as they stated that I have failed to pay the parking fee for the day and time of event.

    Despite providing evidence of receipt of payment from PayByPone the company who operate the cameras "ParkingEyE have rejected by appeal saying that they have not received any payment.

    I have called and confirmed with PayByPhone again and again they have confirmed they have received the payment for the day and time of the event. PayByPhone is the company collect the fees for ParkrngEye

    IF you don't want to pay £100 parking fine do not visit any of the Lee Valley Parks

    Everyone please complain to their MPs.

    This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

    Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

    Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

    The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

    and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
