Got the same and after a long search they found my application and took copies of my docs. Expecting to get letter requesting verification of income like ronbell100 has.

I'll take proof of income with other documentation today, to save a second trip.

    Result!

Apparently they had an old address for an obsolete product I used to have with them so that triggered the request for details.

However, I opened the Advance account and their savings account in-branch
and they deposited the full £200 switching incentive into my new account. No need to wait a year for that extra £50.

    Off to a good start!

Can anyone remember roughly how long it took from sending back the memorable information (place & name) to receiving the security code needed to register for telephone & internet banking please?

I sent the letter back nearly two weeks ago; my new HSBC account is open and my old TSB one has been closed.
