HMRC login 21st Sep 19 at 7:44 AM
As people will know there are two ways to login to their HMRC account to check pension details and tax affairs. However I wonder if others are aware that the account when signed in with Gateway gives a slightly different result from when signed in with Verify.

I sent a message when signed in with Verify about my tax but can only see the reply when signed in with Gateway. It has taken me many emails back and forth with their online support to find this out and find the reply.

    How strange.

Yes, the Verify login gets you access to certain key features but does not seem to offer the full suite of options and links that would have worked from a 'full' Gateway login.

I user Verify to do my self-assessment tax returns as it is relatively easy to recover or reset my login details when I have inevitably forgotten them (because of not using them more than a couple of times a year) and am up against a time limit to file the return. Last year I got a new Verify account as it was easier to verify myself through post office than reset my details on experian! I should probably get a Gateway account again, perhaps they are quicker and easier to reset than they once were.
