This maybe a really stupid question, but how do these airlines work our prices.

I am already pricing up a trip for June 2020.

Flying direct from London in premium comes in at £933

Flying from Newcastle - London - Vegas (same flight from London to Vegas as above) - £745?

We would normally get a train to London and stay over night but it seems silly not to opt for the connected flight unless I am missing something?

You are not missing something. Most of the time it is common that connecting flights are cheaper than direct flights. Many people prefer direct flights so that's one of the reason for higher prices.

I think Platinum is having ideas above itís station lately. The prices when available have been a bit silly.

What hotel did you end up staying in in the end? Did you have plans whilst there, or literally just a bed for the night?

If anything it's got worse as the atmosphere has gone from the casinos with the slots changing from dispensing coins. There are more lowlifes and scalpers walking up and down the strip and the prices have shot up. Can anyone really enjoy the sad spectacle of the poor drugged up girls dressed in showgirl outfits for tourists?

We stayed at the Treasure Island as it was relatively cheap ($89 Inc), whereas 20 years ago we stayed at MGM Grand (brand new and nice - unlike now) for a little over $36. In the same time $5 buffets have become $50 buffets.

All in all, I still can't see how it can occupy anyone for more than a couple of nights (one for the strip, one for downtown). Otherwise you'd be better off spending your precious hard earned on a National Park pass and taking the time to see the real beauty that surrounds thus outdated Mecca of excess and waste.

The Stage Door casino is a short walk down past The Cromwell on Flamingo Road...opposite side of the road from the bottom end of Ballys Hotel.
Looks a grubby little place from the outside...and to be honest itís not a lot better inside, but you usually find an interesting person or two to have a crack with...and the beers usually start at $1-2 dollars a bottle.
Then just a short walk to Ellis Island for some cheap gambling and a steak special..who says Vegas canít be done on the cheap.

We have 4 nights each booked in Oct/Nov this year. The t&c exclude UK visitors, but they told me it is a formality and I have read about lots of people having used the free nights. Last week there were major changes to the game and you now have to be level 2 to be able to see the room rate calendars. Let me know if you need more info and I will try to point you in the right direction.

My plan is to maintain level 1 until I have enough gems for the rooms I want, then do as many scratchers as I can in a short time. I think I will be able to get away with a spend of around $25 to make up the shortfall. Get to level 2, book the rooms and then give it up. We are retired, so itís not too bad for us. Iíll let you know how it goes.

According to ITV news it looks like Thomas Cook will go into administration when the markets open tomorrow morning (7AM) - hope nobody on here had upcoming Vegas flights with them or may be stuck in Vegas right now.
Seen on Twitter that Park MGM Vegas have started cancelling bookings made through TC.

A shame as we have used them from Manchester.

I wonder if anybody else will take over the routes?

Then last night I blew it...came in from a night out after a few drinks,
Went onto the game and I had 750 million coins to play with.
Got carried away with buying the hyper bonuses and a short while later I had lost the lot.
Gems went up quite quickly, but now cannot do scratchers as I donít have enough coin to complete them.
I have decided to focus on getting a decent amount of coins to play with, rather than hit the 2500 vip points needed to maintain level 1.
I think it is pretty much certain that some cash spend will be required to hit level 2 so you can purchase rooms..to be honest if I get enough gems for say 3 night stay, it is still a cheap stay if I spent £100 on getting the vip points that would make me level 2....when you consider there isnít even the resort fee to pay, £100 for 3 nights at the Wynn seems a good deal to me.

Brats64, yes, that’s the problem with going on tilt and losing all your bankroll. I play pretty conservatively and try not to go below the point where I can’t complete the scratch cards. We both have a decent bankroll. I don’t do HBHB. Too scary for me. Just stick to games that I know will give me free games when I need them to complete scratch cards.

Just thought that Photome will be laughing his head off because we hardly even gamble when we are in Vegas, and here I am with a gambling strategy in a fake game.

I didnt laugh too much about your strategy.
