Mser's wish me luck
After a 3rdy party accident Jan 2017 when my car was written off.
I find myself with Jan service and m.o.t tomorrow!
Not like me at all to begin a new year with car maintenance.
5dr clio 2014 -30k approx.
Though I think I might have to mention tomorrow
Is 35 mpg -reasonable,
It maybe that I was missing my previous Clio -though I’m almost certain that was constant +40/45 mpg -both 5 dr 1.2 petrol.
Replenished CRA Reports.2015 Zoe i nav -67-131 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500.

Will depend on the sort of journeys you do?

Also I guess the cold weather won’t help.

I agree, as I only work 3 days past 10 months approx.
3 days per week 20 mile return motorway
Sat to Tues only short local shops driving -a few miles dual carriage way hospital visits-20 miles return once or twice per month.
Thanks I think I’ll mention mpg tomorrow without adding any additional cost to get an answer from garage.

    Mot pass!
Service included in 2 yr service plan.
Forgot to mention mpg-though think I‘ll reset it from current 34.2
    It’s was 50mpg when I purchased the car Jan17
Maybe a decent few miles motorway run once mpg is reset to get an upto date average reading.

I'd have expected more. I get 50MPG+ from my Mondeo.

Read up some guides about economical driving, especially approaching roundabouts, traffic lights and motorway exit sliproads.
  • A January MOT doesn't need to be that bad. Just pretend it's in June and put £200 away in June and keep it for the MOT in January.

I have since read Renault eco driving though I don’t have eco mode on my 1.2-2014
What i have done today is change gear much faster as the gear change led show on dashboard
This is much faster than other cars I’ve driven (gear changes are faster
I did drive more at 50 mph today though I like high 60’s maybe 70.
mpg was very low yesterday 27mpg -the freezing -9 morning -short local drive only,
Mpg when I got home today 35. Shown some improvement -I’ll stick to 50is mph Thurs+Fri
Maybe I’ll get +40 mpg though other clio drivers are reporting high 30’s via forums for 2014 clio’s.
Interesting cost wise it doesn’t feel like it’s expensive to run even with the low mpg -half a tank or 15 pounds a week gets me to office Wed’s Thurs and Frid (part time 3 days only)
    30 miles motorway *3 days 90 miles
    +local driving *5 days maybe 30miles
    At a gues 120is miles a week approx -10-15 u,k. Pounds.

You don't get much idea of fuel consumption from random snapshots taken at short intervals from an on board computer.

You need to do a real brim to brim measurement.

Exactly did it on my car......filled up same petrol station same pump (reason being the forecourt was on a slope) for a few fill ups over a six week period and got an accurate mpg.....waste of time using your on board display

Still missing where the major savings are to be made and that is when you are moving without using the throttle so backing off earlier for motorway exits, backing off earlier for roundabouts trying to time hitting them so you don't need to stop, same for traffic lights etc.

Also, don't forget to check your tyres are properly inflated, and your boot isn't full of unnecessary junk - made a big difference for me with my 09 Fiesta petrol last year - went from 40mpg to 45 mpg on a typical working week.
