Tales from The Shire

I had a day off yesterday to meet up with some friends for coffee. Had a lovely time but coughed and spluttered throughout and was pretty exhausted by the time I got home. So, in an attempt to kick the bug once and for all, I have spent the day in bed
Let's hope I wake up in the morning virus fee and raring to go.
Because I'm very, very bored now.

Thank you everyone for the good wishes. The cough is gradually subsiding and my energy is gradually returning so I feel like things are getting back to normalish.
We've had an up and down day today:
Down: the dishwasher broke
Up: I fixed it :T
Down: FDawg disappeared for an hour
Up: I found him :T
Up: We bought a dining table and four chairs from the Bay. It's a huge, oak, refectory style table and exactly what we were hoping to find. Nobody else put in a bid so we got it for an excellent price.
Down: I left Mr F to measure the car up to see if the table would fit in
Up: Fortunately the seller offered to take the table top in her car and drive a 30 mile round trip so we could get it home It was such a lovely thing for her to do that we took her out to lunch on the way and had a fabulous time. Mr F has redeemed himself by putting the new table together.
Down: Now we need to buy more chairs
I even managed to get some chalk painting done this weekend. I'd bought a very cheap ladder style book case on Amaz0n so I could have my cookery books in the kitchen. It only came in white and my kitchen desperately needs some colour. It's now bright orange and only needs a wax coat before I can start using it :T
Definitely a spendy weekend and I will have to juggle budgets a bit to accommodate the table... but I love it, I love it, I love it.
Hope you've had a fabulous weekend all
