How much do you earn and able to save a month?

Just Intrested in how much everyone is able to save a month after rent, bills etc. I'm currently able to save £400 a month after rent, bills and food. Some months it can be a struggle with unexpected bills. I earn about £1400 a month.

I don't know why I thanked you:p, I earn, erm, quite a bit more and struggle to save £500 per month:o. Officially impressed by your saving. Well done:T

I earn £220 per week and could save £100 a week. The reality is that I save more like £80 on average.

I only spend £25 on rent and pay no council tax. About £10 goes into the leccy meter and I don't have gas bills. My only luxury is Sky TV but only the basic package. I now have free broadband (Sky again). I have to spend about £30-40 a week on fuel for the car but that has no gone up because of weekly visits to see my Mum (Another £20)

Monthly I pay: Sky (TV and BB) £44.50
    Car Insurance £24.00
    Club Subs of £25.00

Not a bad life compared to most.

I earn around 885 a fortnight and can save around 1000 a month but I'm not very good at it as I usually fritter money on rubbish :o
I saved 1225 last month and I'm hoping to keep on track this year because I want to get a mortgage eventually! I'm 30, still live with my parents, have earned a decent wage since I was 19 but I feel like I've wasted the last 10 years of my life now struggling to catch up!
    Saved so far - £28,890.97

Between my wife and me we earn around £2700.

We save as little as £1k and as much as £1.5k every month after bills, mortgage etc.

    £300 mortgage
    £80 gas and elec
    £20 mobile contracts
£20 sky (just got down from £62 by threatening to leave)
    £15 internet
    £211 car payments
    £30 pet insurance
    £12 TV licence
    £100 Council tax
    £30 water
    £50 charitable donations

This will probably drop as we have just bought a new nissan leaf which is costing us £211 a month.

Between our jobs and rental income, we take home just over £3600 per month. We're renting at the moment as in between properties. We're saving as much as possible, average of £2000 a month at the moment.

    £595 Rent
    £250 BTL Mortgage
    £120 Gas & Elec
    £100 Council Tax
    £44 Water
£30 Mobile Phone contracts (£15 each)
£41 Sky TV, phone and broadband

We pay things like car and home insurance, TV licence up front but other than that not much else to pay out other than shopping. Cars are both paid for although we will be replacing one in the next few months so will put outgoings up a bit.

It's because of MSE I started keeping a spreadsheet of things and making my money work as best I can, best thing I ever did :)
  • Earning just over £1300 a month, still living with parents and saving for my own house so £800 a month

I earn about £1000 and DH £1400, we get CHB and we struggle. Having two cars is costly.
  • I understand that everyone is different and have different outgoings but on a personal level I simply cannot understand how a couple can struggle on a monthly income of £2400 a month unless you are paying off previous debt.
  • earn on average £1250 per month depending on how many jobs i get couriering on the weekend/week nights. i can put away £400 a month if i don't decide to be silly and buy something that i don't need.
