Last year I tried to get boiler grant but my income was too high I had another look recently and saw they had added quite a few more qualifying benefits so rang a few suppliers the first said I would have to make a contribution and quoted me £1200 the next one came out and quoted £800 so I rang eon they came out and gave me a quote for £272 they are fitting it next week a Worcester Bosch green star I 30 with new room stat and new be at least 6 radiator stats don’t ask about income you need to own your home and your boiler must be at least 6 years old and non condensing

Hope you don't mind me chipping in here , but I'm on universal credit and my boiler has been deemed too old and the insurers I used refuse to do anything with it .

I was wondering if I'm entitled to a new one ?0 -
I think universal credit is a qualifying benefit you need to apply under the ECO scheme I went on to the eon site and phoned them up she took my details asked me what benefits I claimed she told me straight away I qualify but would have to make a contribution of £240 they sent Simone out he checked my benefits letter and a mortgage statement and a utility bill looked at the boiler which is 20 years old and said I needed a bit more pipe work which would be another £32 bringing the total to £272 the whole process took less than three weeks I would recommend using one of the main gas suppliers as I think some are trying it on0

Very helpful and if you qualify, it will cost you much, much less. Cost me £240.0
