Suffolk i feel your pain! The bad days are shocking, so 9 months of it must be agonising!

Quick report to say that i managed to get 10 items listed this morning when Mrs SJ was out her bike and the kids were pottering in the garden.

Well the sun is out, the first pile of washing is on the line and the second in the washing machine. First brew is half drunk and the Sunday morning TT pot shuffle has been done. £1 TT for today taking the pot to £6.53 which was promptly dispatched to the mortgage.

Then, for those avid readers that remember our food shopping goal... Well we've done more than fine with shopping and just need milk top up (as expected with 5 of us that seem to drink gallons of it), and potentially a loaf of bread in a few days. So as promised i have OP'd £25 of the cash saved, and will send £25 to S&S ISA. So very pleased and Mrs SJ is convinced she can save more...bring it on i say!

Work for a few hours 10-1, and then planning on doing nothing! But before hand i'm gonna get 10 items listed!

Yes, yes, yes, all this money saving is the core business but more to the point, how did you do with the matched betting? We did watch (traditional) and I actually caught myself thinking, "that was rather actually OK" before the Hungarian Viking-version of Take That and some of the usual fare was served up

How on earth is it the 14th May already?? The month is vanishing which is all good as it means im half way to accounts posting i suppose!

Well i was true to my word; got 10 items listed before work and then did pretty much nothing for the rest of the day. As soon as i 'd listed 10 items Mrs SJ came downstairs with another dozen items of DS2 that he's outgrown. Yet further proof that the bag is bottomless. 4 items sold last night taking our weekend total to 12. I'll get them packaged this morning and nip to the post office for a walk at lunchtime. Opened the weeks TT activity with a lovely whole £1 this morning.

Long day in work today, but not overly busy for a couple of weeks (for a change).

    Have a great Monday everyone.

Ebay items dispatched yesterday and i sorted the shift underspends on food to S&S Isa. I actually doubled this to £51 as i had some monies that i'd withdrawn from funding circle. Made a nice 73p TT this morning as well.

Things progressing along nicely enough. I'm 10 days out from payday with £105 in current account. There are no dd's to come out, but i petrol for both and out food shop will wipe this out plus about £20 more. Not sure on the exact date by child benefit is due before i get paid so that will rescue us (hopefully).

It's really striking how much more secure our finances are when we do mse stuff - how much clearer our houses are too! You're doing so well, Jimmy!

The only thing I get slightly puzzled about is the shopping less - I mean, doing 3 main shops not 4 per month, thats got to save time, because a family will always need top up shops anyway ... I don't quite get how it saves money, though. I guess you're basically running down your stores? Which has its good points too, of course.

Your ebaying is magnificent, by the way!

Karam the shopping less quandry. What we have done is tried to max out weeks 1-3 for shopping budget and buy a few extra things for week 4. We've kept in budget for each week 1-3, and ended up with enough food for week 4 without having to go shopping. Not sure exactly why it has worked, but it has! We've also stopped buying beer for the house. I very rarely drink in the house, Mrs SJ avoids wine as its no good for her, and is now avoiding beer at home to reduce calorie intake, and help her to get out on her bike early. So there is some savings there. Not sure how long it will last!

20p TT this morning and a realisation that my MOT actually runs out today and not in June as first thought! Thankfully i have the money set aside, and now just need to hope they can fit me in tomorrow.
