    Hello,

    Need some advice.

I am looking to move into a 3 semi detached that runs on LPG. It has two coal/wood fires in the living rooms, one in each.
there are no long hall ways. I would be looking at 2 showers a day, the oven is gas and the water is running from the gas. It has a combi boiler and the oven is modern.

I would be looking at having two showers a day or one shower and one small bath for son. I work in the day so prob in the winter look at the heating on in the morning and fingers crossed use the wood fires for the evening. worst case scenario woud be heating once am and once pm.

Alos the house is i caerphilly. wales.

Would any one have any idea if this would cost a fortune or would anyone like to share their usage and costing?

Look forward to hearing from someone.

    Thank You

    rachel

The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) has some useful info tucked away on their website including "Energy Consumption in the UK" (I am classed as a new user so can't post the link).
There are various tables to download, an interesting one is energy consumption for England 2004-2008. In 2008 the mean consumption for 3 bed properties was 17,751 kWh, which equates to about 2,500 lites of LPG. For 4 bed properties, the figure was 23,467 kWh (which would be about 3305 litres of LPG). I am in Scotland in a 4 bed property and use about 3,900 litres per annum.

    Welcome to the forum!

    Here's the link:

and then Milltir suggests downloading the fifth one down Domestic data tables and look at tables 3.23 and 3.26 (the ones he's quoting).

After a great deal of phoning backwards and forwards, the best offer I got was from Avanti with 41.5p per litre fixed for 12 months. I'm being sent the paperwork and am having a site visit over the next fortnight so should have further information to pass on after that.

Made the change today - signed up with Avanti. 41.5p fixed for 12 months, £60 per year tank rental and a maximum 5p rise per litre per 6 months. I think I've got a very good deal so please don't turn up with a cheaper option!:)

Thanks for sharing Calor's generous offer for a new contract!

I checked back to one of your earlier posts and I see you are on the Yorks/Lincs border. I gave some Yorkshire suppliers in a post recently (here) - some extend down into Lincs. I'd give some of the nearer ones a ring - their areas may have grown from what's on their websites, or they may suggest other suppliers. Certainly don't just go by the UKLPG website - lots of gremlins! Extra Fuel is also no longer a member of UKLPG, so you could give them a ring (0161 789 0000). There may be other non-members. There's also a farmers' co-op - HateLPG mentioned it ?last year.

Good luck - and please keep us posted!

Have just joined the forum.Well done guys! Have threatened to leave Calor and got through to 'someone in authority'. Price has dropped from 49.5p/litre to 44p/litre plus 12 months stability. Then without prompting was offered £150 credit.
Calor fully acknowledge that the international price has come down and have no explanation for why they continuously push up prices in a falling market.
LIMA have offered 38p/litre, not fixed with first delivery at 30p/litre if taken during summer months.
Tried twice to ring AVANTI for a price, but no reply.

    Welcome to the forum Badger04!

What an amazing deal! I've looked up LIMA on the internet but the only LIMA lpg supplier appears to be an automotive lpg conversion specialist. Can you give us some more detail as to where they are based, where you are and what sort of volume do you use each year?

    Many thanks!
