OK so here is our mammoth to-do list. I've already put 16 boxes of stuff in the loft yet the house still looks messy so goodness knows what I do with that!

    1. De clutter wardrobe
    2. De clutter utility
    [STRIKE]3. De clutter conservatory[/STRIKE]
    4. Paint hall IN PROGRESS
    5. Paint new skirtings
    6. Paint utility
    7. Tile kitchen ?MIGHT NOT DO
    8. Door framing kitchen
    [STRIKE]9. Soffetting[/STRIKE]
    10. Plinths kitchen
    11. Weed kill drive
    12. Weed garden
    13. Finish painting spare room
    14. Hardcore gateway
    15. Wash internal fence IN PROGRESS
    16. Paint internal fence
    17. Septic tank. Quotes.
    18. Driveway gravel
    19. Move firewood logs
    20. Cut smaller log sections drive
    21. Cut smaller log sections woodshed
    22. Repair fencing muck paddock
    23. Muckheap removed
    24. Muck paddock cut
    25. Yard pressure washed
    26. Tack room tidied
[STRIKE]27. Debris from garden[/STRIKE] KEEP ON TOP OF
    28. Metal barrel out
    29. Gutters cleared yard
    30. Gutters conservatory
    31. New lampshades or fittings
    32. Fix stairs lights.
    33. Paint radiators *2.
    34. Paint dining room
    35. Replace skirting kitchen
    [STRIKE]36. New lights kitchen
    37. Paint french doors
    38. Polish kitchen handles[/STRIKE]
    39. Put back up trim on conservatory
    40. Paint back gates
    [STRIKE]41. Roof cleaned[/STRIKE]

These are in no particular order of time, cost, importance or complexity! We have had a couple of the non-DIY things done already, having the roof cleaned and some very rotten soffiting replaced has made a massive difference to the overall appearance. A lot of the other stuff is cosmetic but time consuming, but we've so much outdoor space that it's hard to keep on top of.

    Spendy few days.
Car is through its MOT fine, not bad for 10 years old, although needed 1 new tyre to pass; and as its quattro, got the other front one replaced as well (was quite close to being illegal). So £200 on that.

A random £27 due to VOSA for some nebulous charge on having the plating certificate on my HGV transferred.

£72 on horse wormers, but £20 is due back from a friend.

£75 excess to replace my phone - it went kaput on Monday, but my bank mobile phone insurance covered it (in fact got an upgrade). This is actually a blessing in disguise as it was very close to needing replaced as it kept shutting itself off, and I was never going to get a new(er) smartphone at that price.

Also need the vet for vaccinations and worm counts, expecting a bill for the work we had done on the house, and have a guy coming in to help with the garden weeds so we can accelerate the advertising. With DS around I'd never get caught up in time to catch the spring flourish for the photos :rotfl:

I also need to go and order an otterbox for my phone. I suspect the final nail that broke my phone may have been DS shoving it in his mouth and drooling on it. A lot. :o

None of it feels frivolous but it's a heck of a lot of money going out once again. Things like tyres are saved for but some of it would normally come out of monthly pay - obviously can't just now on mat leave. Might have to have a fresh look at fleabay ideas and get selling again.

Ugh DS had a bad night last night. He's napping now. DH out for a run and I'm feeling very unmotivated. Horses done, had breakfast. Just finishing my tea then deciding what to do next. Not many quick wins on my list. I think painting spare room is next as we need to start DS sleeping in it! So I think plan will be tidy up, empty dishwasher, shower, then if he's still asleep start sorting room for painting.
Meanwhile I'm reading a magazine. I have a big pile so decided to re-read then put in recycling. So it's really de-cluttering.

Ok have out the treatment in the lawn as the weather was right for it. Not sure if it was on the list but it's more moss than anything now. Also re-listed an item on fleabay, sent DH off with items for charity and contacted a charity about unused printer inks.

Now off to start clearing spare room.

Gah it rained hard last night so no idea if the lawn treatment will work. Never mind, time will tell.

Spare room is in progress - ceiling and feature wall done, lighter walls had 2 coats but may need a third when I see it tomorrow. Made a start on the gloss but there will be a fair bit of that to do. Hopefully manage to get it all done over the next couple of days, naps dependant ;)

Not sure what to target next. DH away a couple of days this week so won't be anything big.

In money news, courtesy of ScattySkewbald mentioning it on her diary (thanks SS!) I remembered about TCB and discovered over £100 payable :T. It's on its way to me, though will just have to put it towards living expenses due to maternity pay ending in a couple of weeks. But I had forgotten about it, so that's fantastic news.

  • Yay to the cashback! It's great when that happens. I'm currently on SMP, we're doing okish but it feels like a full time job trying to juggle the finances! How long have you taken off?

I'm managing the full year. :T. Everyone said to do it if you possibly can. But I only got 12 weeks paid, and the rest has been SMP. 39 weeks is looming fast and so even that stops. I've got about a 4 week gap before my salary starts again, and then I go back onto full salary as I will use annual leave.

DS just settling for his nap then I'm rushing off to paint. Such an exciting life. :rotfl:

Spare room nearly done. Only have a door to paint then fit the curtain rail.

And that's all the news I have. Exciting isn't it? :rotfl:
