IN my local wetherspoons its the app all the way. drinks delivered in less than a minute via the app. sometimes queue for 10 mins at the bar
You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *
  • I agree it's quicker via the app - took about 10/15 minutes in a busy pub on my last visit, but looking at the bar queue, that would have taken longer to get served

The thing is the app unless it has changed since last using it does not allow you customise your order.

I prefer drinks with out ice. And if ordering food you can't remove say the salad from a dish.

Hence why I don't use the app.

If you really want to anoy WS staff go as a group and do individual app orders for the same table.

Guest ale not on the app.

Yeah, that's a small bugbear for me, as with the breakfasts, I don't like mushrooms or tomato, but cannot edit.

Glad its not just me and my partner suffering with the issue.

My partner contacted spoons months ago and the reply was something along the lines of we will be looking at that.

Umm surely as I can customise my order at the bar, Why did you not think of this when developing the app. Bad IT.

Many customization are done by notes.

There are regular options like chips/jacket/salad

Not practical to add customers notes on orders as some substitutes are not allowed and no control over availability.
Then there is what people write.

You use a tick box to give options, easy so an option is no ice for drinks. Most of the meals you can change from chips to a jacket potato. Again a tick box to choose either option. And the same with burgers, tick box for no salad.

Hardly rocket science and easily done. No fuss and no people taking the mick out of it.

Mind you after the appalling bad service in one of my locals wont going back there again

  • I've found that the ones that have a beer garden are often slower to deliver drinks via the app as they tend to make all the drinks for the beer garden at once and then bring them through altogether.

I wouldn't know there was an app, but, whenever possible, I have always tried to never go to a bar as I always get ignored/overlooked. I've just got one of those faces and/or I'm so small they don't see me.... I usually stand on the metal bar that runs along the front of many bars .. and on tiptoe.

When I eventually get served, they usually say "Oh I thought you were with him.... or him... " pointing at a selection of males.

If there's an app .... I'd use that every time.
