I have ate (edit: ate?!! grammar should not be this bad no matter how tired ....=eaten) / swallowed all the frogs and made my calls to H*SB/C:j So my Be Happy Day and Do what you can has got off to a good start.

All accounts interest and charges frozen for six months and will be defaulting.
Very sympathetic adviser who wished me all the best going forward (first time that any adviser has done that ever).

Will go and bounce on the kids beds now and wake them up :rotfl::rotfl:

    Morning LastFewSteps,
You are welcome to Hijack here any time:) and thank you for sharing.

DS is the same as yours and likes to do that too - too similar to his dad. Re Hugs/cuddling not being manly - DS is still very affectionate (at home in secret where friends can't see!) and likes his cuddles - he sees DD gets them but he is often rejected by DH which makes me very sad. Unfortunately DS not very sporty (and DH only watches sport on tv - doesn't do) but he has got a lot better at rugby as he's got bigger but DH always too busy to go and see him play so DS doesn't even get the macho pats on the back and hand shakes. He's very musical and plays sax but its always just me that goes to his concerts, maybe once a year DH might go.

Cinema is their common hobby and I get them to go together sometimes so they can spend time together but I wish it was something more interactive. Doing man stuff at home (woodwork DIY gardening etc) just ends up being a shouty match as DH really doesn't have any patience and instead of teaching and allowing mistakes, just snatches task back and says he'll do it himself ( he always feels under time pressure).

I don;t want DH to be same as me, just more understanding that kids today are different to when we were young, different pressures, different interests and hobbies, different lifestyle etc etc . and to put himself in someone else's shoes once in a while.
and to join in with the family.
And a little bit more of the old fashioned gentlemanly behaviours wouldn't go amiss:rotfl:
just realised the list is never ending and a big ask:rotfl::rotfl:

ERrrm. I wonder how long his list for me is :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hello Everyone :)
    Thanks Bob, MBG and LFS:)
Just starting to get all the replies from creditors, another one has accepted the tiny prorata offer with review after 12 months, so that's about 40 % of the debt approx 30K is now on frozen interest after review. So all in all am paying £70 a month towards debts, so it will be a while before we see a dent in it :( but if all other creditors accept review at least I have a minimum of 6 months before I get all worked up again. In meantime I am busy making more plans on things I could do from home.

Have been marking exams last few days so its been very busy.

No luck with volunteer work for DS is charity shops, they will only accept under 15/16 year olds if on the D of E, which he hasn't started yet. A real shame. and we asked in several. Red Cross, Oxfam, Salvation Army and British Heart foundation have all declined even tough they all desperately need more volunteers. Just waiting to find out about Cancer Research though I expect they will have a similar policy. :(

Have a good weekend everyone - its meant to be a scorcher my way:)

What a pain for the volunteer work. What a great amount of breathing time to have though, really pleased for you.

    Have a good weekend too.

    Hi Noa

Well done, keep it up. I felt disappointed for a long time that I wasn't paying anything off, but then I realised that keeping the debt from going up was an achievement, plus any small payments meant that it was actually reducing. We're still far from debt free as I don't include my car loan or the business loan in my signature, but I'm happy that we are getting somewhere at long last. Just keep going with it, it will all become clear in the end. (and if it doesn't it isn't the end :rotfl:). Going to get the 2nd best Marigold Hotel out on video this weekend - treat to myself :rotfl:

    Take care, xx

ps - we were in your position with DD up until about a year ago and then it all changed suddenly, he will get there with it :)

Thanks SS, my mindset will adapt eventually :o I did go back and look at that emotional hygiene /Guy Winch video again just to remind myself about taking a rest from worrying. much more easily done at work/away from home.

Enjoy the Marigold Hotel - I am hoping to sign up for Net*Filx or something for the summer as we don't have satellite/cable or anything, I believe basic package is only a few pounds a month.

Will keep persisting with DS/voluntary work. He'll be 15 in Oct and that opens a lot of doors.
