This seems to have been missed by MSE, thought it may be useful for those on EE. I'm guessing this has a lot to do with EE charging the full whack on their ETC's instead of basing them on the discounted line rental a customer actually pays, or their refusal to cancel a contract when someone dies.

The investigation will examine EE’s compliance with GC9.2 and GC9.3, in particular whether:

The investigation will examine EE’s compliance with GC9.2 and GC9.3, in particular whether:
- its early termination charges (ETCs) were set out in a clear, comprehensive and easily accessible form; and
- by not accounting for discounts given to customers on their monthly retail price in its conditions and procedures for calculating ETCs, these ETCs acted as disincentives to customers against changing provider.

It has already been reported on MSE. Since the report has yet to be published it's unwise to speculate.
It certainly has nothing to do with deceased customers continuing to be charged.0 -

The Virgin investigation has a different case number and has been going on quite a while, but obviously there will I'm sure be some similarities as they are both investigating unreasonably high cancellation charges, more than the cost of completing the contract, which is clearly wrong.0
