Sky deal or something else?

Paying £11 for basic Sky on retention deal. Renewed as wanted Sky Atlantic and recorder. Mostly watch recorded TV now so no adverts and convenience

Considered Freesat, but initial cost was prohibitive, but guess would likely get that back over time? Likely want recorder and HD, whats the cheapest version of this?

Considered Now TV but not sure it's quite the same as Sky. What's the channel list like? HD? Catch up? Picture quality?

Thanks for your help!

    Freesat won't have Sky Atlantic

Now TV doesn't have HD quality. Sky channels are available.

Check the websites concerned for full channel availability and cost of equipment etc.

Regardless, aren't you still currently in the new minimum term of your retention deal?

No Sky 1 on Freesat either. You'll find the channel numbers are all over the place on Freesat compared to Sky as well.

It's not the SAME as Sky, but is a catch-up/box-set focused service with the main Sky channels available. Channels are also available live, but to watch now, with no recording capability (you'd watch any past programs via catch-up).

The channel list for the Entertainment Pass is: Sky One, Sky Atlantic, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts, FOX, Gold, ITV Encore, Comedy Central, MTV, Discovery Channel, Nat Geo Wild, abc studios. The main FTA catch-up services are also available on the Now TV hardware.

The Entertainment pass costs £7.99pm, but deals are often available.

The quality is 720p, but the framerate is high, and high-quality productions like Westworld look extremely good (I couldn't honestly see them being hugely different in 1080p). I have a 43" TV - bigger TVs might show more of a difference.
