Cricut pros and cons (looking to buy one)

Hi,

I was looking into buying a Cricut for my daughter s xmas. I was wondering if any of you keen crafters had one and if you could tell me the pros and cons of it.

I think it would be the air one I would be looking at. I think she would use it on more than just paper. Also can you use them in wood?
