Had a good week, work not bad, had a stress free week really. Had few nsd, hoping to meet all savings targets on pay days next week ;)

My little tuck shop doing ok, looks like i should make £20-£25 a week easily, for relatively little effort, so that looks promising so far! :T

Next week we have a long weekend friday-tuesday off work, so we are planning a few low cost treats and days out, cant wait for some together time with my lovely husband

Cinema and takeaway tomorrow, we are treating ourselves (with cinema tickets bought with voucher from work, so still money saving ;)) so just going to get housework done in the morning, then the weekend begins!:):):happyhear

:) Pay day today, everything gone out, and a fantastic £2,300 worth of premium bonds bought, bringing our total to £5,500 :j

I loved using them to pay off the mortgage and loan in june, and nothing beats the feeling of being completely debt free, but i must admit i feel better now we are rebuilding the savings pot!:)

We have a lovely long weekend off together now, and i planned a few low cost treats to enjoy together, including a night away in our favourite rural inn, paid for entirely by my saved spending money, and tuck shop profit! im so proud of us , we are sticking with our plan to the letter, and the hard work/overtime/getting the balance right with odd treat along the journey is really paying off- we will get our smallholding/rural home!!:T

warning, im going to have a rant!

Is it just me , or are neighbourhoods in suburbia getting noisier, and neighbours more ignorant? where we live is an average place, ex council estate, most privately owned , on the edge of an old village, short walk to rural walks , schools ok etc, so i dont live in a ghetto!:D Lately, the noise/inconsiderate neighbours etc is driving me insane!, heres a few examples-

next door neighbour- work very part time, both of them, in the house nearly all week, yet this morning an urgent bench grinding/drilling project needed to be done an hour after hubby in bed after a 12 hour night shift

down the road an hour if that later, some one decides to let their toddler play in the car while they clean it, toddler enjoys leaning on the car horn while parent smiles at the child enjoying himself, *ugger the poor sods around who might just be having a lie in on a saturday morning, or who work nights!

Another considerate neighbour regularly comes home, and leaves loud rock music playing at an earsplitting level for a minute while he takes his time finishing his fag, before locking up his car and going in his home. What is wrong with people!!:mad:

God, i cant wait to move to a less populated rural area next year, if we cant get the house we want, im setting up a tent to live in on a remote island away from neighbours! lol:D

    Rant over..:)

Thanks for your comment pink poppy, glad its not just us who are drove insane by suburbia/neighbour noise! just for fun ;) heres a few more things that i wont miss when we move to the sticks-

cant enjoy just being in the garden without being forced to listen to other people in theirs playing music while they socialise/barbecue- one nearby neighbour varies between taverna style music, to dire straights in concert full blast while they sit out , oh to just hear bird song!:)

people coming home after drunken nights out shouting loud goodbyes and slamming taxi doors at all hours, who cares if anyones been in bed 4-5 hours- they havent to get up for work in the morning!

Ill stop now, i just love the peace and quiet of country living, and inconsiderate/noisy folk drive me insane!

    Cant wait to move:)

Haha, you do sound so like me :D

I went brambling with my daughter yesterday & it was just so peaceful where we went, it really brought it home to me how 'busy' it is where I live.

Hubby and i made the decision to start getting stuck into getting the house ready for selling, and never ones to hang about, this is what we have done this week- had local firm out to price up new kitchen, this is desperate, need all plastering, including ceiling, electrics and gas pipes boxing in/moving, new flooring, painting..

The price was good, and they have excellent reviews, so the start work 22nd September!:j we need to have window measured for new blind, we are ripping old kitchen out to save money, and painting the new plaster before they fit the units. Flooring can be sorted when kitchen is fitted..

We have upstairs to decorate, and new carpet can then be fitted in living room, stairs and landing..

Instead of using savings for the diy,ive left the premium bonds alone, and ive taken out a halifax clarity loan, which allows as many overpayments as you like.. i will enjoy the challenge of getting that cleared ASAP :rotfl: I plan to have it cleared in 8 months .. let the challenge begin

Im not looking forward to the kitchen being out of action for 2 weeks tho

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!:):)
