Remember, this is a family-friendly board, so lets keep it clean.

I know a bunch of the girls here work as phone operators for adult chat lines and from what I read of their (very long) thread, they're doing a fine job, making good money, and are really helpful in encouraging others who are interested in the same.

I'm just curious as to whether any boys or girls on here would consider appearing or performing in "adult films"?
What considerations would affect your decision (assuming there was no wierd stuff)?
What sort of rate of pay would you expect?
Would you expect royalties? How does that work?
Would you feel more comfortable in your own home? on a set? in a rented room?
Apart from the obvious, what might put you off?
(please, no silly answers, this is a genuine query)

Before anyone goes mental, I don't have a "special film company", or any kind of financial interest in this market at all. I'm just curious.

MODS: I checked the rules, and this doesn't seem to break any of them, but please (re)move this and PM me if you feel its not appropriate... :)

Because I assume that given an opportunity, any male would leap at the chance to participate and be paid to do so.

I'll amend the original post :)

    EDIT: fix'd

    Arguably true.
But it is still an "Adult Industry".
And I wasn't targeting the chatline girls specifically. Just anyone.

I know someone that was offered a great deal of money to direct some adult stuff, he declined as he did not approve.

Interesting. What sort of films did he work on when he got the offer? Just normal, regular "director"?

He was being asked to direct some TV stuff for the "specialist" channels on digital tv. All late night stuff.

He worked on documentaries mainly for mainstream tv

And 95% of "regular" males wouldn't be able to perform to the required standard either. I've read a few articles in the past from people who work in the industry who've always said that, in general, many men think they could "easily" become !!!!!! stars but when they're actually put into a situation where they're asked to perform on camera, in a room full of strangers, they usually can't do it.

There's a website called "ausmodels" that is like an online modelling directory with many, many women who are also willing to do hardcore shoots.

I've seen rates range from £75 pounds to £150 pounds per hour for boy/girl hardcore.

Personally, I think if it's done sensibly and, above all, professionally then I really don't have an issue with it.

    .

    95% ????????????

Do you have a source for that statistic? Or is it just hearsay and rumour?

I would have a lot of doubts about that figure being correct.
  • I would have thought that no matter how skint you were self respect would stop you doing such a thing.....not only that but think of the health risks! NO WAY!! Take in ironing,do cleaning or whatever but dont lower yourself to doing that! You may as well stand on a street corner! Chatlines as already mentioned are a different thing all together, theres no comparison...
