A bit of a long one sorry.
I used the Hard drive out of an old XP desktop in a CCTV system
I used it for a bit and then delted the recording and now decided to put it back in the PC and load windows 7 or XP on the pc with this Hard drive.
every time i have tried to get the pc to started it says something about the bois not being installed and sometimes i get something about "arry"
i have managed to change the boot order to the DVD and it then restarted on its own, a message that has kept popping up is ......... no bios installed
It eventualy loaded the windows files (black screen and white line at the bottom) but them the pc stickes on the windows emblem and starting windows
what am i doing wrong?
Thanks

Go into the BIOS at start up first and set the hard drive .0

Stab in the dark "Arry" is drive array - maybe?

CCTV often use a free os like linux. I would have wiped the whole disk and repartitioned, rather than just delete the file0 -

empty is not always empty. empty could be unrecognised format, corruption, or other weirdness.
The easy way is to wipe the disk, just to be sure. In your case I would use this

Myself would try this, https://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
Unsure why it is not recognised in bios without it being infront of me, and without knowing the setup. IDE drives master/slave/cs and cable correct?0 -
This is the original issue with this pc Before we took out the HD for the CCTV system
I will photograph everything and post as my son took out the HD and he cant remember how it went
Thank you very very much

The photos are too big
I have tried to make them smaller by using the squares on the edges
I am using the Imgur it is so easy and quick but cant see an option to ajust the image sizeSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0
