Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13 13th Apr 16 at 12:29 PM
This is the new thread for those trying for a baby.
    The previous one is here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5143999

Please be aware that this is a thread for those trying to conceive. If you wish to announce a pregnancy (or are only a couple of days from testing) and you have never used this thread before, please either wait until CD1 or use the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread. Hormones can run high on here (nature of the thread!) so please be sensitive. Many thanks!

As with everything deemed medical, we cannot offer medical advice, so please visit or call your GP if you have any concerns or questions. Sorry to hear about the test results PKK, can the blockage be reversed? Hopefully the doctor will have some solutions for you.

I said if we didn't conceive by Dec I'd book myself an appointment with the doctors & get the ball rolling on some tests, but I'm kind of putting it off. I know I'm in the obese category( wouldn't know it to look at me) which I'm working on and I know she will bring it up but I've always had a hard time with my weight so I hate people mentioning it. So that's putting me off. I'm on my 12th cycle now & will be 12 months in March when we started trying. So I might put it off till then 🙈

I'm so happy for everyone that's come across the boards and gone away with a BFP, but it's wearing me down a bit, it's so hard to sit here and read everyone's success stories & it just won't happen for us. So I think I'm going to take a month away from the boards, concentrate on myself for a bit, less focus on ttc and see what happens.

Lots of baby dust to all you lovely ladies & I hope the new year brings lots of BFP.

Hopefully one of you can take on the lists, I've done it myself when PKK was away and it really is only a few minutes job.

Glad you had a nice Christmas PKK.
I'm sure it's been a relief to have an explanation, hopefully it won't be too long in getting sorted out for you! Best of luck xxx

Skimper, yes if it is a blockage then an operation will hopefully be possible depending on how complex the blockage is. You also have the option of sperm retrieval for IVF. My BMi is also in the obese category and my doctor didn’t even query it when I asked about fertility tests. I know that the fertility specialist will so I am going to really try to focus on regain control of my eating and weight now. I would really recommend just asking your doctor for the blood tests and sperm analysis. We are both in a really similar situation with TTC I think so feel free to PM me.

Thank you CCJ. We are just waiting for the doctors call so hoping we have some more information soon.

I have updated the lists and will pop a blank copy on tomorrow for the start of the year, with Skimper and I removed, ready for the next person to take over.

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES! I hope this is the year we all see that BFP!

I will still be popping in now and then to update and hopefully see lots of your BFPs, so you won't be getting rid of me, but I am going to take the pressure off now I know we have an issue to resolve!

Hello everyone and happy new year!

Sorry to hear about the MC Lulu fingers crossed that you get a a sticky BFP soon!

PKK sorry to hear about the SA - I suppose it is good to have some idea that something is going on as it gives you answers but still upsetting. Did you hear more about it today?

I am really confused about my cycle this month - I am CD38 today and have been having crazy symptoms. I tested last Wednesday and got a very squinty second line on a coop test - got excited but OH couldnít see it without me taking the test apart. A FRER and a Ic were both negative. Did the other 2 coop tests over the next couple of days and both have lines but as they measure much higher than the FRER I am going to say they must be evap lines I just wish my period would start so I can track again. I have a horrible feeling I have PCOS and always have - I have a lot of Symptoms and I have such long irregular cycles, came off the pill 4/5months ago and only had 2 periods! Think I am just being hormonal as I havenít been trying long and am a I want it now person!

Anyway sorry for being miserable - need to pick myself up and keep going!

I will update the list when I get home. What CD are you Lulu?

I'm so sorry to hear about your MC lulu.

OH's had a blood test and some of his hormone levels aren't right so he's been asked to repeat it with some extra checks included. Due to work he can't so this for a couple of weeks so just got to wait it out.

being back to work has zapped my energy levels so no BDing, real need to make an effort to have some early nights and get some BDing in!

Sorry to hear about the results PKK - hopefully when they repeat the test they can find a way of sorting out whatever may be wrong! TTC is such a minefield! I honestly used to think getting pregnant was so easy!

I also agree with you about being tired - I just have no energy at the moment!

I think I might be in the 2WW (after my moan haha) I got a positive OPK Monday so forced OH to BD but think we may have been too late. Going to test next Thursday if AF isn’t here as I know my lueteal phase is short and I am impatient!

I hope everyone is ok - it is very quiet on here at the moment!

I have a little worry niggling in that there could be something more serious wrong with OH, so just trying to ignore that thought and wait to see what happens. I have no reason to think it's more serious it's just the fact that some of his hormones are out and the doctor said she sought advice as to what to do next. Will try to forget all about it for a couple of weeks.

Happy Birthday Skimper! I love Centre parcs, which one are you going to? We are going in a few weeks with friends.

Happy birthday Skimper! I am finding my 30s quite good as I am less worried about the small stuff! I hope you are enjoying Centre Parcs - sounds like you BDed at the perfect times, fingers crossed you get a lovely birthday present

PKK I would be the same - it must be so hard not to worry that it is something more serious hopefully it is just a blockage and they can sort it out!

I donít have much hope for this cycle - I think I may have ovulated Sat/Sun but we only did it once on Friday morning. I know it only takes one go but I would be more hopeful if there had been more! If AF turns up I can start temping properly at least!

    Hope everyone is ok!

    Sorry for AF Aunty-Pickle

I am CD1 today too - just been to the loo really upset as my cycles are just so long and again I know that my luteal phase was only 7 days. It is so hard when you want something but I do understand that we have only been trying for 4 months (although only 2 cycles)

I hope everyone is having a good Monday!

    Hi Wootsit,

Still lurking round here but wanted to let you know that I was also suffering with a short leutal phase after coming off the pill and had been for 4 months. It was around 7 days like yours. I did some googling on this and started taking both vitamin b6 and Angus castus which are both meant to help with regulating your cycle and lengthening your leutal phase. I got my BFP the first month of doing this. Of course it could have been coincidence but may be worth a try?
