Not sure if this helps but your daughter could ask for a cheqie from her savings account at Nationwide branch and then pay that in instead of cash

I'm still not sure why your (presumably adult) daughter requires you to go faffing about on her behalf and transacting in banks you aren't a customer of. But, if for whatever reason you simply must manually walk the banknotes from one end of the high street to the other, one solution that's not yet been mentioned is to get a credit book issued on your daughter's account, and come into the bank with a pre-printed slip from the book for each deposit. Your deposit would then be accepted in the self service machines and over the counter.

She can tell you her pin code.

.....which is totally against any bank's Ts & Cs, and if discovered will probably lead to account closure.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

common sense as well. you would be horrified the number of family members who decide to take advantage - obviously most wont but....

not on its own it wont. unless for example there are repeated fraud claims where the transaction are chip and pin. they would just get a verbal slap on the wrist and be "strongly advised" not to do it.

It would be the easiest thing in the world for your daughter to open a Nationwide current account on line?

Instant transfer from savings account to current account and thence by faster payment to Barclays.

Our local bank has just had a face lift, and with it has removed the action of being able to put her money into our daughter's account for her, with her bank card. We can't put it into the cash machine as we have to put in her pin number and we all know she can't tell us. And as we have not got a Barclay's account we now have to go into our bank, Halifax.put it in my account and they will transfer it to her account with her card.

They said this has been since Jan. but my husband has put it in a least three times for her at another branch with no bother. They said it was due to the new money laundering and they have to know who put's the money in. I know you will say for her to put in herself but can't always get to bank due to hour's she works.

So due to so called new technology it has made a simple transaction harder. Halifax cash machine's let you put it in without a pin number .So much for a better customer service, not.

If you want to put money into a Barclays account you need a card+PIN for that account or a pre-printed paying in slip for the account.

The simple answer is to get your daughter to order a paying in book and for her to give it to you. Then you can pay money in directly to her Barclays account at a Barclays branch.

Or a cheque in an envelope and let the daughter do the running around.
Never pay on an estimated bill
