Hello,
I have received a 'Sealed witness summons' to appear in court for a friend. I'm unfamiliar with this, is an employer obliged to allow you the time off?

I would think so, but not obliged to pay you.0

If they tried to stop you I suspect they would be in contempt of court. As said above, I doubt they have to pay you.0
