I know Beanie...it brought it home to me when I re-read some texts I'd sent to my friend who is the teacher from work last night - just after I'd told the kids they were moving me to a different hospital and I was going to have spinal surgery and maybe be transferred again to a hospital that specialises in cancer....scary times I don't ever want to return to...I really have come a long way and will be forever grateful to the doctors for deciding to treat me concervatively after the results of the 2nd MRI scan rather than rushing me into the surgery they'd talked about.

Can't get my head around slimming world at the moment but I need to - will someone give me a virtual kick up the backside.

I went to B&M on my way home from work and bought some compost to plant some heritage tomatoes, courgettes and some blue and white bedding plants. A dangerous time of year for me as one of my weaknesses was (is) buying plants. So giving the seeds a go :money:

My cc statement should be here in a day or so and I can do some number crunching and hopefully pay it off in full.

Just waiting for my friend to come around for a cuppa and fill me in on funeral details for her dad who passed away with dementia....I'm hoping I can shuffle my hours around to attend.

Had a bit of a busy week . I've spent a lot of time with my friend - there's not a lot I can do but I visited the cemetery with her for her mums birthday to take flowers ........its quite bizarre - her mum died when she was 16, my mum died when I was 18 so there was over 2 years between both mums passing yet their graves are on the same row of a well used, big cemetery 20 spaces from each other which is the exact number of doors we lived from each other when we were kids.....that fact has always fascinated me....anyway she is a dutiful daughter who puts flowers on her mums grave at every opportunity whereas I can't remember the last time I visited but both my mum and dad are in my thoughts most days - in fact if I hadn't have been with my friend I'm not sure I'd have found it......how bad is that! Anyway she was happy to put said flowers on the grave before her dads funeral which is another 2 weeks away!!!!! Is it just my town or are funerals taking longer and longer - this is the 2nd person since Christmas and both have had to wait 4 weeks for the funeral - it's cruel and just drags everything leaving the families in limbo....
Phew - that was a bit of a long winded story that I hadn't planned to write.

MSE news is I've had my cc statement - not a pretty sight with new handbag and extra spends I'd not planned. I'll need to wait for payday to number shuffle and see if this month is the month or if it's going to drag on yet another month. This month shouldn't have excessive spends though. I really hope I can do it.

Another thing on my cc that I hadn't planned was a deposit for dh birthday present . He is 65 this year and it's our 40th wedding anniversary and I've put a deposit on a collectors item I know he'll love to do with his railway. Far more than I'd usually spend but it's a bit of a special year and he'll be surprised and hopefully thrilled with it - it will do for both celebrations. It should appreciate in value too so if we ever get in the mire financially it can be sold......I've just got to pay for it and hide it until his birthday in November - getting excited at the thought and smug I thought of it .

I've been back at work too. 3 1/2 mornings last week. 3 mornings plus dinner time this week and 1 full day - we break up Thursday then when we go back 3/4 of my hours and full time the following week. I've been fine although my leg has a wobble in the playground if I stand still too long so I need to keeper moving.

    Glad that work seems ok.
Hope you are enjoying the new bag.

Yes, funerals seem to be taking longer for some reason, not sure why.
I 'popped' in to 'see' my dad the other day. 6 years this month. Where does the time go :(

New bag is my guilty pleasure Beanie - used it every day.

Pay day tomorrow so number crunching time.

Had to buy a new kettle today ...hope it's not going to be the 1st appliance to kick the bucket - past experience tells me they usually give up the ghost in threes....

I've been tired today so will be happy to break up for half term. But I've been walking a fair bit - probably too much as my leg heads been tired and shakey today. But I need to use it.

I've been painting my shelves in the hall a bit at a time - think Mr M will have to do the cupboard at the top as I'm wary of ladders with a leg that tremors if I stand still too long. I'll be glad to get the hall and landing finished - it seems to be going on forever!

Well Mr M didn't do the shelving at the top - he's tutted and sighed and couldn't decide which bit to paint first .....so I saw red and told him I'd do it myself......so I did!!! A bit at a time.

All the undercoating is now done - carpenter told us to us see a shallac undercoat - it's the stuff of the devil - but it's all done now and I'm going to gloss them over the next few days in a pale grey satin colour. The doors on some of the shelving are a right royal pain - the carpenter made them in situ and the sliding doors don't come out for painting so I can understand Mr M not wanting to do them.....pity carpenter wanted so much extra to paint them. I sent dh out to buy more paint so that's something I don't have to pay for. I want them finished by Wednesday as dd and girls are coming again at weekend and eldest granddaughter is loving the shoe shelf and coat peg she can reach for herself. I'll have to put a toe behind dh to get the curtain rail, pictures and mirror I bought nearly a year ago then hall and landing will be finished:T:T

I didn't overdo things and sat lots in between going up the ladder - but got to admit to being very wobbly tonight in 1 leg - it'll make it stronger.

I'm quite miffed as I've had discharge letter from the original hospital I was in - stating they'd transfer me back in the care of my GP, I'd been admitted with a mass on my spine which they'd suspected was a tumor so rushed me to specialist hospital - all of which was fine. But they went into my past history and its not correct - said I'd had a previous carcinoma which I hadn't - 3 doctors asked me when I was in if the past surgery I'd had was cancer I told them 'no' and it's the same hospital I'd been treated in so they had access to my notes yet they still said I had. This got me thinking did they make a mistake and not tell me originally......but I've had so many cameras and scans done since nothing has ever showed so it can't be right. So tomorrow I'll have to ring consultants secretary to get it changed - I don't want that on my records if it's not true - more agro....

MSE wise I can't pay my cc off in full - £200 short - the price of my bag and deposit for pressie for dh - neither of which I'd planned. It is going in the right direction though.....that'll teach me to buy big unplanned for items - I'd have done it without them:mad::rotfl:

Good news on the painting :)
Be careful of the leg. Not convinced it will make it stronger!
Good news on the CC~~that is awesome.
Nearly there & think of the pleasure you will get from your bag & DH's present.

Thanks Beanie - always the voice of reason when I'd got myself in a tizzy as I'd not managed to pay it off in full. Why are we so hard on ourselves but can see the positive of others situations.

Well I've been chasing Doctors secretaries up on the phone this morning wanting my records changed from saying colonic carcinoma to perforated bowel. I really don't want that on my records (got enough without anymore) this last lot of docs were convinced that's what had been my previous trouble and wouldn't listen to me telling them what it actually was....but other than that I had brilliant treatment and was checked more than thoroughly and I at least know I'm mass free everywhere - just the paperwork messing things but it could cause real problems if it's left on there.

Off to do some more painting - got a 21st cake to make for Thursday to- busy week:eek:
