Anyone know of Commitments Protection? 14th Oct 17 at 11:12 AM
Hello to all. Begining to feel that we got scammed.
After winning a PPI, we didnt expect. We got cold called, then visited by COMMITMENTS PROTECTION Ltd.
After a lengthy chat, their rep convinced us to part with over 900 upfront to check our NRAM mortgage, he said we had an excellent claim for being mis sold. And used a 23k carrot to get our payment.
Now it seems, after a month of nagging them, our claim is not so good, and the 900 we paid was for a 'mortgage review' and nothing more.
But if we want them to continue to try for the mis sold possible claim they want 700 more! But no guarantees, thats to pay for an 'expert witness' to review it this time!
Has anyone fallen prey, or know anything of this company? Nothng much online!

    Major problems
Well we were really stupid, they came to see us nearly a year ago and the thing was because we had a PPI through them and the Mortgage Bereau in Derby set it up, think the one already mentioned. We bought what they called a 5 year block for 3,400 and yes it was added to our Mortgage, we did have it kick in for a year and it basically paid the Mortgage, though stupidly I wasn't aware it would only cover one ailment for a 12 month period and as it was my husband who had become really ill with MS and didn't actually work for nearly 2.5 years. That's another story of how he was injured by a non practicing Chiropractor and was actually going to go back to work having been off for 3 weeks and awaiting MRI scans ...5 neck manipulations but paid to that and it turned into 2.5 years, And the Chiropractor moved somewhere in France and the Chiropractors Council gave him a 2 year ban. Should of been a life ban but hey ho And he's absolutely fine on the whole now days bless him. Sorry strayed some, so when Commitments rang us and said this Mortgage Bereau had done some real ripping off of customers, it kind of made sense. And because they had actually paid us out we thought they were genuine ...Wrong. We are actually in battle with them now and I am not going to state as yet how much they took off us with payments and DD's but its a good amount. Thing is the CO John Maher doesn't seem to know how much they have had from us and has managed to lose our personal data. He has offered a refund of 200 and that doesn't touch what they have had. So any help will be most welcome. I already requested a SAR from them as we signed quite few papers and he held out for the full 8 weeks and just sent a load of rubbish as a reply really. Next step is the LO

Ah, the infamous Commitments Protection cancel, John Maher, Paul Hunt and others. They are all guilty as sin and have made fools of you all. They are equally liable and you must not let them off the hook. John Maher drives around in his plush Range Rover when he should be running a wheel barrow. Hunt lives in a mansion with a private gym and swimming pool. The two of them state they are ex-marines. Like we would like to believe them. They are a pair of obese bullfrogs without a ounce of decency between them.

    Unhappy Commitments Protection customer
We too feel we have been scammed by this company. In 2015 a man called Travis called to see us and very convincingly got us to part with 450 with a signed letter by himself saying there would be no further payment required. After numerous phone calls from us to Commitments as they never got in touch with us another gentleman came round to our house and got us to part with another 500 plus saying that we had a good case and saying that the Solicitors required the money to prove we were genuine in thinking we had a claim to move the case forward. After months of waiting and no paperwork or phone calls from Commitments or Solicitors again it was up to us to contact them from which we had one email saying the case was being looked at. After months later of still no communication from Solicitors we made another phone call and spoke to one of the Directors who assured us that he was going to make sure our case was being dealt with. Two and a half years later we are no further along and have tried to phone Commitments but their phone number is no longer in use. We seem. to be one of many that have been scammed by this Company which we are sad to hear. In hindsight we were naive in parting with this amount of money but these people were so convincing.

Just an update, we received a full refund, plus 100 on top, took a while but at least it happened. I think if they cannot provide a service in this way, then they can't really expect you to pay for something that is unlikely to happen. I dealt with the CEO P.Hunt and have to say once he was aware of the problem, he got it turned around pretty quickly.
