landlord insurance is up for renewal .
Policy states employed /self employed tenant,I am not sure if that is still the case .
Tenant lost his job a while ago and went onto benefits but has been paying the rent .
Do I need to find out for insurance purpose or is the fact he was working at the start of the tenancy good enough?

Speak to your broker (unless your policy is held directly with the insurer, in which case speak to them).
Nothing we tell you will help, as every insurer sets their own criteria and not telling them could have adverse consequences if their criteria is strict.0 -
If the insurance is based on the tenant being employed / self employed and you don't think they are you should update it.
You could say to the tenant you need to know the source of their funds for insurance purposes.0 -
Tenant is claiming DSS .Insurance went from £119 to £440.
looking a policy elsewhere."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

I would assume you are looking through the cashback sites such as: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/more-than-insurance/The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
