Apologies about the format -attack of the punctuation again!
Today was definitely a low spend day compared to yesterday! Although I did forget to mention that I gained an additional income of £50 from a friend who owed me for pressies and Id written it off as I knew she was pretty brassic herself. £40 of that will be used for Stockpot, save me having to dip into my Irregular Costs Pot and the remaining £10 will go into my Rent Pot.
Ive been doing a little cost analysis over the past week or so on my meals but was waiting for my next dinner batch cook. I did it yesterday so now I have a complete breakdown of my personal food costs on a daily basis:
. £0.80 Breakfast (down from £1.15 with a combination of frozen and seasonal fresh berries)
. £1.10: down from £1.15 having sourced a cheaper avocado (eat one half @ 20p)
.£0.60- have rounded this up to from 53p as type of veg varies depending what I have in
. £0.25 morning snack
. £0.13 afternoon snack
. £.025 before dinner snack (too hungry to wait)
. £0.40 drinks (3 xcoffee,1 x tea)
.£3.53 TOTAL
That works out at just over £25/week or £105/month. I was a little surprised to be honest, I thought it would come in under £3.00. Ive cut my budget down from £300 to £250 a month and have to feed DD 3 meals a day plus snacks on a GF Vegan diet as well as DS who will be coming home from uni next week for 3+ months and Im thinking this is going to be tight. Im hoping with a little research I can shave my lunch down a little without losing too much nutritional value and possibly go back down to drinking 1 less coffee. I will aim to get it to a straight £3.00. These are miniscule adjustments but that 53p will save me £192.93 a year in addition to the £127.40 I will save by switching to mainly frozen berries (£320.33 in total thats big numbers!). Thats not to be sniffed at. I will also go back to making DDs snacks, got a bit fed up doing this but I think they add up to a fairly significant number.
Anyway back to:

Ive been dissecting my celebrations budget today and have decided to separate it into two pots: Xmas and Everything Else (Bdays, Easter, Mothers Day etc).
I have a budget for each person who I buy for and have based the budget on last years spends. I have reduced DCs budget by about 20% which I feel is pretty good going for an emotional spend (lets see if I can stick to it).
I have already had a significant amount of the higher spend family birthdays, easter etc so my pot will be £485 for the remainder of the year (allocating £70/month) and my Xmas pot will be £1480 (allocating £211 per month). These budgets include all celebrations relating to the event ie food, drink, eating out etc. My goal is to underspend by £200 for xmas but tbh given Ive already cut 20% off DCs budget Im going to have to be a pretty savvy shopper.
To help me along my savvy shopping I have taken to carrying a little Gift Ideas notebook with me, listing names and budget so whenever I see something or they mention anything to me I write it down and hey presto - gift in the bag I also write down any stores or websites that I think of that may be of use. Its proved really useful so far, particularly if I have any ideas as to what they might like.
Cooked some up cannellini beans today to batch cooked some homemade beans but I managed to leave them in a little to long and they have gone slight mushy - hoping they wont mush down when I make the sauce.

Im glad Ive set up my stockpot as I took full advantage of it today and have managed to save £19.00 so far by stocking up on my GF essentials (I now have a cupboard bursting with pasta and cereal). I may add in the £10 that I was originally going to put into the rental pot as the same offer is on their frozen Quorn items as well, not that I have any room in my freezer as its not very large.
Scores on the Doors:

- £15.96/£35.58/£40 - Stockpot

Was planning on a low spend day but DD needed a few bits from Boots, I took advantage of the Stockpot and DD's bf came over and I had nothing in the freezer that wasn't lentil based so had to pick him up some chicken for Sunday dinner.
I need to keep an eye on my pots now as we are not even half way through the month and I have spent just over half my monthly budget. I have an expensive week coming up as Im off to see DS at uni tomorrow to pick up some of his stuff for when he finishes (my car is too small to fit everything in in one go ) so we will probably grab something to eat. Then out on Tuesday with my two BFF to celebrate a birthday. Will only be a cuppa and I try and get there a little early so i can buy mine without having to offer to buy everyone elses (tight I know ) Pressie is sorted, we always do a joint gift voucher, just need to pop out and get some flowers. Actually now I think about it I have those the wrong way round. Glad I realised otherwise that would have been awkward!
